Chapter 9

Nicole

The Christmas break was great while it lasted but it never did last very long. It was our first day back at school but I knew Leeyah would still work our ass good. To my surprise when we got there she was in her own world.

"What the hell is up with you?" I asked. "You're never this carefree, especially not on no Monday!"

"Yeah, we not complaining but you alright?" Another girl spoke up.

"I'm just happy that's all.." She giggled. "Chris proposed!" She had the biggest smile on her face while showing us the huge rock.

"Oh my god, congratulations!" I yelled and went to hug her. No wonder her ass walking around here on cloud ten thousand. If a nigga gave me a ring like that, I'd be insane too!

She told us how everything came about as we sat there smiling and making cute little comments. "Don't get too comfortable ladies, it's time to run laps and I'm gonna run them too. That food got ya girl feeling fat!" She laughed and we all got up and prepared to run around the gym. "No out to the track for some real running today! Three laps, five if anyone takes a break before finishing the previous lap!"

Since we was being so nice I'd expect them to take advantage of it but of course not. Some stopped completely and others slowed down, which meant we all have to run five.

"Hustle! Hus-" I heard Leeyah say and when I looked back at her she was laid out.

"Leeyah!" I and the other girls ran over to her. "You go call the paramedics and you go find Chris!" I told one of the girls while the rest of the girls stood over her to block the sun. The paramedics came in no time but Chris was no where in sight so I went with her.

I hope she's okay..

Chris

Today started off good. I woke up to the most beautiful girl in the world and my classes we chilled and laid back. Practice had just started and it was kinda chilled too. I can't even lie, a nigga was feel great.

"Chris!" I heard a female yelling my name in the distance. I knew it wasn't Lee so I ignored it. "Chris!" She got closer and was out of breath. I realized it was the girl in Leeyah's team.

"Wassup?" I asked confused.

"It's Leeyah.." He chest heaved up and down. "She passed out!" My heart dropped.

"Where she at?"

"She's on her way to the hospital, Nicole went with her.." She managed to get out. I ran off without giving any fucks. I knew coach was gonna let me have it but I didn't give a damn.

When I got to the hospital, I had to sit in the waiting room and wait for them to finish with her. I wanted to call everybody else but they told me it wasn't that serious..

"Thank you Nikki, I really appreciate all this for real.." I told her.

"Leeyah and I are friends so its no problem.." She said. "Congratulations though, I'm happy for you guys.." Just when I was about to thank her, a nurse called out for us.

"You two here for Leeyah Moore?" She asked and we nodded. "You can go see her now.." I shot up.

"You two need time to yourself. Just tell her to call me when she can.." Nikki said and I agreed. When I walked in the room she didn't even move to look at me. She just kept staring out the window.

"Leeyah..." I said lowly.

"Hm?" She turned to look at me.

"You okay?" I asked as I look the seat next to her bed.

"Yeah babe.." She smiled. "I probably was just working too hard and then the sun was beaming so yeah it's nothing.."

Soon as she finished talking the doctor came in. "Hello Ms. Moore, if you don't mind can I talk to you by yourself for a few?"

"Doctor J, this is Chris my fiance so whatever it is you can say in front of him.." Leeyah said then smiled at me.

"Well Ms. Moore a congratulations are definitely in order-"

"Thank you.." Leeyah smiled. "I'm so excited.."

"I'd imagine so! Being a wife and a new mom will do you that to you."
