"Why did you come back?" ask the raven haired girl besides me, back on her car seat.

Here we are again, driving. On the driveway, everything outside seems very quite.

Her voice makes my face turn away from the opened window that I've been looking at the whole ride.

I can't really tell why she asks that, but I'm too drain to even think about it much.

"You know why," my voice sounds normal, and from the very little movement on her grey eyes, I can tell she's both amused and surprised with the way I react.

She looks back at the driveway in front of us. I wonder if it always been this quite. If before vampires attack the human world everything filled with noises and people and other things.

"I'll try to be a better slave, you know," I say after sometimes later. "I'll learn to know my place."

That one makes her turn her face at me shortly, raising her eyebrow as she does so.

"You know you don't have to," she tells me. "I don't want you as a slave, never did from the beginning. Just be normal. All I ask from you is not to get in my nerves, that's not so much, isn't it?"

Lie, lie, and lie.

Will she ever get tired of doing that?

I just wished she would just be honest and let things slide bluntly. I'm so tired of the way she fake things up.

Does she think I haven't already know what she wants? I'm not as stupid as she thinks. Nothing ever comes free, so why the hell she pretends like her favor is?

Our short conversation is interupted midway, however. As Rosaline spots a car stopping in the middle of the road with twisted angle, I can't really tell what's wrong with it. Many abandoned cars are still somewhere in this place every then and there, but at this one she stops her car about one meter from the car.

"Do you smell that?" She asks me suddenly.

I sniff at the air. It doesn't take me long to know where the delicious smell comes from.

"Blood," I answer her.

"Vampires," She corrects me instead, swiftly grabbing a gun from her gear. I notice she checks the gun first before she opens her door. "Stay in the car."

Getting out of the car, I watch her walking, very fast but very carefully, circling the car. Her movements looks elegant and alluring.

But I can't possibly stay here while she's in danger, can I?

If something bad happens to her then I'll be doomed in instant.

Quickly getting out of the car, I follow her trace. It hasn't even been five minutes and she's already fighting agains five vampires, one of them already lying on the ground.

I run as quickly as possible and knock out one of the four that still having a battle with Rosaline, who at all honest doesn't really seems like she's in a big trouble.

But I'll help anyway.

As I tackle a male vampire to the ground, he stares at me with a confused look that quickly turns into a burning rage.
