Ch. 8

Sunday came and went, and once again here I am waiting to be picked up by Sinu. I don't have practice until tomorrow, our first game is this wednesday so we're practicing hard tomorrow. I saw the familiar grey van pull over.

"Good morning Lauren"

"Morning Sinu. Good morning Karla." I said smirking.

"Good morning Lauren." Camila said sarcastically.

"mornin Lolo" Sofi said to me smiling.

"mornin Sofi" I said smiling back at her and at her nick name for me.

We drove to school and again we were dropped off at the corner.

"So why do you like to be dropped off here?" I said as we both walked to school.

"Wasn't it obvious Friday?" She asked not looking at me. I stayed quiet and turned to look at her.

"Well you are jock... I leave my house dressed a certain way and I change at school into my nicer clothes to show my 'richness'." I nodded my head

"But why go through all that trouble? Why can't you just...be you?"

"Because the real me isn't popular or thought as hot. She's lame and a loser."

"I don't think your lame. That Karla girl I hung out with on Saturday, I prefer her then the rich and snobby Camila." I said truthfully looking at her. She turned and chuckled shaking her head.

"You don't know what your talking about. You don't know Karla like I do."

"Then I'll get to know her." I said looking forward, from the corner of my eye I saw her turn to look at me with a small smile, she bowed her head.

"Good luck with that." We left our separate ways into school. I walked into english and walked to my seat.

Camila walked in wearing a floral dress with her wavy hair. She turned and gave me a shy smile. A real smile not those typical smirks she gives everyone.

Lucy turned and looked at me.

"Whoa what's wrong with her?"

"Huh?"

"Camila. She's not into you anymore. She only smiled at you."

"Lucy...no." I can't tell her.

The day went on with Camila flirting here and there. She never gave me another real smile, she didn't even look at me.

I walked out of school when I saw Sinu outside waiting. Camila was already inside waiting in the backseat. I got into the passenger seat not knowing why Camila was back there.

"Lauren, your mom called and said Taylor had an allergic reaction so she took her to the doctor's so you'll be alone for a couple hours." Oh Wow. Taylor knows she's allergic to peanuts. OH SHIT MY KEYS!!

I looked through my bag looking for my keys. "Uhh I uhh kinda forgot my keys at home." I said shyly.

"Oh sweetie that's ok, you could just stay with us." Sinu said smiling.

I smiled back thankful that she's so kind.

We arrived at the Cabello's house and I sat on the couch not knowing what to do.

Camila walked in and went straight to the kitchen.

"Lauren you hungry?" Sinu asked politely. I nodded and went with her to the kitchen.

"Karla, make Lauren some lunch."

Camila nodded and got some stuff from the fridge.

Camila prepared two thick sandwiches for the both of us. We ate in the kitchen in silence. It was a really a good sandwich, I moaned a little when I took the first bite. Camila looked up at me and looked uncomfortable.

I went back to the living room at sat down with Camila next to me.

"Karla why don't you go show Lauren your room?" Sinu told Camila as she passed by.

Camila looked at me and got up walking up to her room. I followed her and saw her just sitting at the corner of her bed. I went and sat next to her.
