Ch. 27

I'm outside waiting for Camila in my mom's car. I have fifty dollars in my wallet hopefully that's enough for Dinah. I honked for Camila to hurry up. She came out in skinny jeans, a zip up sweater, and her hair up in a bun.

"Hey." She said as she buckled in.

"Hello girlfriend." I leaned over and kissed her cheeck.

"Muah" I said as I backed away. She flinched and backed away scrunching up her face in disgust.

I smiled proud and drove towards the mall.

Camila began unzipping her sweater and threw it on the backseat. She was wearing a button up sleeveless shirt. She undid her bun and down came her curly dark long hair.

I glimpsed at her seeing her apply eyeliner.

"What's with the change Cinderella?"

"In case anyone from school sees us?" I stayed quiet and looked towards the road.

"Dinah texted me saying to meet her outside Snapback 'R' Us." I nodded and went to park.

"Where is she?" We're outside the store Dinah told us to be at. It's already five fifteen and she's not here yet.

"Is she always late?"

"Most of the time." Camila said texting Dinah again.

"Sup dawgs!!!!" Dinah walked up to us from behind with her arms out.

"Dinah where we're you?" Camila went over to hug Dinah.

"Sorry I had to pick up these two" I looked behind Dinah and saw Normani and Ally following behind.

My two ex girlfriends hanging out with me and my current girlfriend. How great.

"Ally Normani, this is Camila my bestises friend and her girlfriend Lauren. Normani you already know Green Eyes." Dinah waved her hand around introducing us.

"Sup Laur." Normani came and gave me a hug.

"Hi Mani" She pulled away and went to hug Camila.

"Ally" I shot her a small smile and she returned it. I heard Dinah, Normani, and Camila burst into laughter for some reason. They quickly rushed inside leaving Ally and I behind. I waved to Ally letting her go in before me.

She smiled shyly and I followed behind.

We met Dinah, Normani, and Camila looking at snapbacks. They each wore one that matched with their outfits.

"Oouu I want this one!!" Dinah yelled out picking up a red snapback that had Island Girl on it. She put it on and looked in the mirror doing duck faces.

"I'll take these three, and those two" Dinah said. She had two in each hand, one on her head, and she nodded towards the ones Normani and Camila were wearing. I sighed out. Goodbye fifty dollars.

"How much do they cost?" Dinah looked around for the price tag.

"Twenty five each." She said and walked towards the counter.

"Wait I only have fifty!" Dinah stopped in her tracks and slowly turned around. She looked scary with her eyes staring at me. I heard Camila and Normani 'Ouu' from behind me.

"Fifty?" I nodded my head scared.

"But you said you'd buy all the ones I wanted." I looked to Camila scared she quickly looked away.

"I didn't say that Camila did. And I only have enough for two." I said, hopefully she'll find some compassion deep in her heart.

"Ok" She put down her three snapbacks and took Normani's and Camila's off putting them on the counter.

"These" Camila and Normani pouted in awe. I felt bad for not bringing more money. Dinah's whiling to give up hers for theres.

"No, Dinah get yours" Camila said hugging Dinah.

"I want these for me not for you." Dinah pushed Camila away and tugged on my arm to pay.

We sat at the food court drinking our Starbucks. We sat around a round table hearing Dinah, Camila, and Normani talk about who knows what. They would turn to include Ally and I every now and then.

They suddenly became quiet. I looked up at Ally and put on a small smile.

Ally nodded behind me. I turned around and saw Dinah, Camila, and Normani posing at the window of H&M next to the mannequins. I turned back around giving Ally an embarrassed smile.

"Nice girlfriend." Ally quietly said.

"Thanks." I took a sip of my drink looking down at my misspelled name.

After a moment of silence Ally began to Ally.

"Lauren, I know you have a girlfriend, but I miss you. I didn't know how much I did until I heard your voice two days ago. And now that you're here in front of me. I know that I really do miss you."

"Ally...I have a girlfriend."

"She seems more like a friend Lauren. She flinches whenever you touch her. When you kissed her check, she pulled away and looked really awkward."

"Ally-"

"Sorry. I don't want be criticizing. But you can't say it's not true." I looked down at my cup and played with the drops of water that rolled down my cup. It's true Camila doesn't want to date me, but it she forced me first.

"Can we go out. To lunch and talk. More calmly?"

"I can't go on a date with you Ally." I said shaking my head.

"Don't think of it as a date. We're just two friends catching up." Ally sat up and smiled with her lips pressed together.

"Alright."
