After the doctor explained what therapy I needed before I was sent home. I fractured my leg and scratched up my arm. Basketball season is over already, we won just like we wanted so at least I don't have to play anymore. This month colleges are sending letters to those they want to scout. I haven't received any yet. I'm scared they won't want me after this accident. I have to be in a wheel chair for one month.
The day I returned home all my friends threw me a surprise party. Ally didn't go, I think she felt guilty, either that or she's afraid of Camila.
Alexa, Lucy, Ally, (the one from my school), and Ariana visited me at the hospital once. They were upset I lied to them. They did go to the party but they left early. Camila has taken me to school and even pushes my wheel chair through the halls. It's been weeks since Becky told everyone about Camila, but no one even remembers anymore.
Girls don't chase either of us anymore. We just blend in with everyone else. Camila hasn't told me what she refers herself to be. I haven't asked but I don't really care because either way I love her. I do love her, I haven't told her but I will soon.
"Babe just one more"
"I'm full I don't want anymore" I turned my head and Camila poked my lips with the spoon full of soup. She's also been feeding me. I can't walk I can hold my own spoon.
"Lauren." She tried again but I turned the other way. She groaned and dropped the spoon back in the bowl.
"Lauren this came in for you" My mom handed me a letter from the University of Miami. I was so sure I wouldn't be scouted by what happened.
"Ouu Lauren open it open it" I carefully opened it and read the letter.
"They want me but... they're giving me two months to get back on the court and to get in shape." I have to use a wheel chair for one month that gives me one month to go through therapy and to get back in shape. It's too much.
"Ba-Lauren I know you could do it." Camila said noticing my mom was still here.
We staid quiet until I heard my mom walk away.
"When are we going to tell them?" I whispered to Camila. She sighed and had a spoon full of my soup.
"I don't know, I'm not ready yet, but soon." I watched her finish my soup. She got up, I thought she was done but she went over to the pot refilling the bowl. I watched her eat again and she finally left the bowl in the sink.
Camila helped me stretch out my legs and she even massaged them for me. If she could she would spend the whole day here.
"Lauren. Camila. "
My mom called out for us. I got back up on my chair and Camila pushed me towards the family room. Sinu and my mom sat at the long couch with a serious face on.
"What's up" I said stopping my chair next to the love seat where Camila sat.
Sinu looked at my mom and looked back between Camila and I.
"Girls. We've heard around town, and we're not saying we believe in this, but we've heard that you two are dating. I know that sounds ridiculous but we want you two to confirm to us that it's not real. Again we're not saying we believe it we just want to be sure." My mom said. I looked at them trying to calm my beating heart. I felt blood rush through face, my hands felt hot, and I heard my heart beat in my ears.
With no one coming out to deny the rumor, my mom sighed and trade glances with Sinu.
"Ok....Camila I want you to tell me why in the world you didn't tell us. Why did I have to find out about my own daughters love life from strangers" Sinu said raising her voice. My mom held her arm calming her down.
"And you Lauren....we tell each other everything. I trust you. Why didn't you trust me." My mom said calmly. They both sighed and shook their head at us.
"I'm sorry. It wasn't Lauren's fault. I was scared. I didn't know how you guys would react." Camila said quietly.
"Did you really think we would love you less for loving someone? You're going to have to tell your father because I'm not." Sinu said standing up. Camila got up as well with her head down. She walked towards the door but I held her hand.
She bent over and hugged me kissing my check. She pulled away and had tears in her eyes but a small smile on her lips.
"Lauren, I'm disappointed in you." My mom said after Sinu and Camila left.
"I know mom I know. But Camila wasn't ready and there was no way I would force her to do something she doesn't want." My mom smiled and hugged me.
"Ugh I want to be mad at you but I can't. You sound just like your father."
She walked into her room smiling. I hope Camila is ok.
________
It's Saturday morning, I checked my phone incase Camila texted me about last night. Nothing. What if her dad doesn't like me? No he likes me everyone likes me. What if he thinks I'm not good enough for Camila?
"Lauren I need you to tell your dad about Camila. The Cabellos are coming over again and I know there's going to be some tension between you two." I got out of my bed and walked into the kitchen.
After we finished breakfast I waited for Chris and Taylor to leave so it would just be my parents and I.
"Dad I have something to share with you"
He nodded and sipped on his coffee.
"For the past few moths I have had a secret relationship with Camila."
"Ouu whose Camila? What about Nancy? I liked her." He liked her?
"You liked her?" My mom and I said in sync. He shamelessly nodded. Huh.
"Nancy never existed, that was Karla's friend Dinah. She's not rich or a cheerleader. She doesn't even go to our school......You know what let me just start from the very beginning."
I told them about Camila's lies and how she got me into her them. I told them about Dinah, Normani, and Ally. I also mentioned how my ex girlfriend exposed Camila leading up to the crash.
They were surprised how long we've been together. My dad high fived me when I told then I made her my real girlfriend. My mom cooed at the mention of my christmas gift to Camila. I told them she made me a sweater and they laughed. I didn't even think twice about mentioning what else she got me.
"How do you think Camila's parents handled it?" I asked wanting to know. My took out her phone and tapped the screen.
