-Taylor's Point of View-

Falling asleep in Jake's arms was the most amazing feeling in the world. He is so gentle but I feel safe at the same time.I slept the best I have in years, but still ended up being awake by 9 am.

Once I'm awake I look over next to me and see that I am alone in the soft covers. There is a note on the pillow. 'Morning, went for a run, should be back in a little while. I love you! <3 -Jake'

Smiling I stand up and stretch before walking into the kitchen. I fill up Rex's food bowl then take out pancake mix from the top shelf. I run back to my room and grab my iPod off the bedside table. Then I dance my way back to the kitchen and plug the iPod into the dock.

Turning on Maroon 5 radio I sing along to 'Just a feeling' as I mix together all the ingredients. Just as I'm about to pour it onto the pan a pair of muscular arms wrap tightly around my stomach pulling me into a hug. He leans down and gently kisses my neck with soft but strong lips. I can't help but smile. I lean my head against his as I pour the mix on to the pan. I turn in his arms so I am facing him. His beautiful green eyes shine down at me as I lean against the counter, still wrapped in his tight hold.

"Morning." I say as he kisses my nose.

"Good morning," He smiles down at me and rests his forehead against me, "How'd you sleep?"

"Amazing! Your sheets are so unbelievably comfortable."

"I'm glad you like them." He says, his straight teeth showing behind his light pink lips. My smile fades as I remember that I am making pancakes and I will have to break away from him. I turn in his arms again and flip the pancake that somehow managed to be a light golden brown.

He pulls his arms away and grabs a plate from one of the cupboards. He sets it on the stove next to me before jumping up on the counter watching me as I cook.

"How was your run?" I ask looking over at him. He shrugs and crosses his arms, his muscles rippling a little. I can't help but watch them for a minute, "So about the same?" I ask forcing my eyes to look at his face instead.

"Yeah, only I didn't get stalked but Heather or Rachel." He say nodding and leaning his head against the counter behind him.

We sit in silence as Pandora plays and we occasionally sing along. He clears his throat after a while and sits up straight again, "So my mom and Carol are coming on Sunday."

"That should be fun!" I say looking over at him and smiling, and I actually meant it, Carol and Lily are two of my favorite people in the whole world.

"It should be interesting, when I called them yesterday they were pretty excited about you being my girlfriend." I smile again and scoop the pancakes onto the plate starting to make a pile, "Good because I don't know what I would do if Carol hated me."

"I don't think it's humanly possible for Carol to hate anyone, especially you." He says, his eyes gleaming.

I laugh and finish, turning off the stove and coming to stand in front of him leaning against his legs, taking his hands in mine. He smiles at me but it isn't his normal smile, something is off. He still leans down and kisses me softly on the lips. I smile against the kiss but pull away, maybe a bit too soon.

I grab a second plate and two forks before walking back over to him. He shakes his head and holds the pancake plate above his head before grabbing one off the top and taking a huge bite of it.

"Jake Edward Barlowe! Give me that plate!" I say, half a laugh escaping my lips.

"Taylor Ashlee Loyn, No." He says giving me a teasing grin, almost back to his normal self.

"Please?" I ask biting my lip and resting my elbows on his knees.

"Let me think abo- Ah no."

"Fine then." I say turning on my heels and walking to the fridge. I open it and look directly at him as I take out the last piece of Greek pizza. His favorite kind of pizza.

"You don't even like that kind." He says grinning in amusement.

"But I like pancakes and you are 4 years old and won't share. So that means no more pizza for you." I say starting to take a bite of it. He sits there and laughs crossing his arms again.

"Really? You're just going to sit and watch me? Jake, we aren't having pizza night for like another week." I say hoping that he won't let me eat the rest of it. I hate the olives and feta cheese mixed together.

He shrugs again and smirks at me, "It's kind of funny."

"I hate you," I say taking another bite and crinkling my nose, "Jake this is F'ing gross!" He laughs and sits cross legged on the counter.

We do this until I manage to finish the whole piece and he finishes off 2 more pancakes. He gets down and comes over to me, pulling me in with one hand on my back and the other in my hand as we waltz to some random song on Pandora. "You are so pretty, Taylor" He whispers to me and I smile with my head gently resting on his chest.

After awhile he breaks away, pecking my lightly on the cheek before walking to the sink and starting the dishes.I watch him and start to drink a cup of water, washing down the taste of the pizza.

He clears his throat then starts slowly, "So last night some guy came by." He say facing the window above the sink. I  can kind of see his reflection in the glass. He looks worried and a little nervous.

"Oh?" I ask looking at him lowering my eyebrows.

"He said he knew you." He says quietly.

"And it wasn't Carl?" I knew it couldn't have been because if it had been Jake would have just started the sentence with 'Carl dropped by last night.'

"No his name was Grayson. Grayson Andrews."  I almost choke on my water when he says this. Grayson found my apartment and tried to talk to Jake. After everything he told me in the car last night Jake is the last person Grayson should be looking for.

Jake turns around to look at me as he dries a bowl., "So you know him?" He asks but it is more of a statement.

"Yeah I do." I say looking back at him.

"How do you know him?" He asks calmly but his jaw clenches so slightly. Only someone who had known Jake for as long as I have, or longer, would notice.

"He didn't tell you?"

He shakes his head looks back at me with curious eyes.

"He is the stupid cheating boyfriend I had in college."

"Oh that makes sense.," He says after pausing for a moment, "Why was he in your car last night?" He asks quietly.

"He showed up at the bar last night and I gave him a ride home." He nods again and watches me in silence.

Then he looks down at the ground, "Taylor?" He asks with more confidence looking up at me , his eyes are large and almost dangerous looking.

"Yes?"

"What's the Trevor thing?"

Shit.
