*One Year and 3 Months Later*

-Jake and Taylor's Points of View-

"Yes, I love you too." I smiled as I sat in my chair and looked at the computer screen, it was a picture of Derek and I on our 3 date.

"I'll see you tonight." He said in his deep, soothing voice.

"Bye!" We said at the same time and then we hung up.

I looked over to see that most of my students had started to file in as the hour began.

"Where's Billy?" I asked looking around.

"Oh yeah. He wanted me to tell you that he is in the bathroom." James called from the back row. I nodded in response and looked back down at the open text book in front of me.

"So, Ms. Loyn." Scarlett smiled and leaned froward. I was still weird to me seeing her with her naturally blond hair dyed dark brown.

"So Scarlett?" I said, returning the smile as I lowered my eyebrows in confusion. I knew that this was going to be off topic and random.

"Do you think Derek is going to propose?" Her grin spread across her face and it was followed by the rest of the girl's smiles.

I couldn't help but think about Jake. Whenever anything came up about Derek and I getting serious it always made me think about Jake. I knew that he and I were over and that that would never change, but I still missed him. I had almost called him a hundred times, but told myself that wasn't good over either of us.

"I don't know." Which was a lie, I knew he was going to propose. Tonight was our year anniversary. After Jake left I went into a deep depression for a long time. Until one day I was going out for a walk and I met Derek. As it turns out, he lives on the floor above my apartment. He asked me out several times before I finally said yes. It took a while, but once we started going out I found out how wonderful he is.

Derek is a dentist at the local hospital. Which is nice because he doesn't have to run all over creation to go to work and our schedules are similar. He is tall and handsome. He has the greatest collection of books I have ever seen, and he knows every line to Monty Python and The Holy Grail. Which isn't exactly what you would look for in a guy, but he was perfect for me.

Scarlett gave me a knowing look before she was engaged in conversation with Miranda, the newest member of our math class.

I looked out the window to see the snow falling softly outside. Winter was by far my favorite season. Jake and I always would spend hours on weekends watching Christmas movies and drinking egg nog. Derek and I hadn't had a winter together so I couldn't exactly come up with memories to occupy myself with.

Once I saw the tall stocky figure of Billy enter the room I looked up and started to lesson.

Luckily for them we were in an easy section of the book.

I stood outside the classroom and sighed. I knew this was a bad idea. I knew I would regret it, but I had to try.

I looked down at the ground and saw a piece of paper. It had a name and date on it, along with an assignment. I picked it up and smiled. It was exactly what I needed.

I took a deep breath and then knocked on the door.

"Come in!" A familiar voice called. I pushed the door open and time seemed to stop. She stood there in front of the board, writing out a problem. It was like an old movie where the music starts to play and the girl slowly turns to the returning hero. She looked so happy and pretty standing up there. Her long blond hair had been cut to just above her shoulders, doing a little flip at the end. And when she saw me, she dropped the marker.
