Elizabeth has to admit, the kingdom of Britannia was beautiful. It wasn't as beautiful as the goddess realm that she called home, but it was pretty in its own way. They had only one sun in the sky, which meant that there were actually shadows. In the goddess realm there were four suns, which would kill humans, but to the goddess race it wasn't a big deal. Having four suns made the sunsets amazing but the day was bright and didn't have the added beauty of shadows. That's what the human world was though. In between. In between light and dark, goddesses and demons. Elizabeth sighed.

She wished that the goddess race could be like that. The goddesses only had extremes. It's either black or white for them, no grey area.

Elizabeth didn't think that all the demons could actually be all that the archangels and her mother told her they were. Her mother saw it as a duty to eradicate the demon race. Elizabeth wasn't so sure that that would be a good idea. Without demons everything would fall into light. Light isn't beautiful without darkness.

Elizabeth clenched her fingers into the grass and ripped it up. She strangled a scream of frustration before it could come out of her mouth. She wouldn't want to attract any attention, she wasn't even sure if her mother knew that she had left. But this war situation was the absolute worst! Maybe if she met a nice demon and brought it back to her mom... geesh, don't think like that! Elizabeth thought. You're thinking like they're brainless animals!

Elizabeth was jolted out of her thoughts by a loud crash and a yell. She was immediately standing. Had a human found her. She knew that not all of the humans were on board with the goddesses. Could they be calling their friends to come over and kill her? Shit, goddess wings sold for a high price.

Another crash brought her back to reality, and her caring instincts took over.

"H-hello?" Elizabeth asked, yelling into the woods just behind the meadow she had been sitting on.

She was greeted with a growl. She gulped.

"U-um. Is a-anyone there?" She whispered and coughed. Another growl. Elizabeth stepped farther into the forest and saw a small boy turned away from her. He had unruly blond hair and seems to be clothed in a dark skintight cloth wrapped around his body. He must be running from a wolf or something! She thought. She looked around. Instead of a wolf, she saw a blinding light. It was definitely a goddess.

Elizabeth wasn't sure why she did it, but she retreated into the shadows.

"So, Ludoshel, we fight at last." The boy growled as he stood up, brushing dirt off of himself. Elizabeth gasped. Ludoshel? He's fighting this small boy? Elizabeth was about to intervene when she noticed that the tiny cuts the boy had had when Elizabeth first noticed him were healing before her very eyes. He couldn't be a human. And those clothes looked like they were moving around his body.

"Indeed, first demon prince Meliodas." Ludoshel smirked. Elizabeth couldn't help the gasp that escaped this time. She saw the demon whom she'd heard so much about turn a bit behind him as if he'd heard her. She prayed that he hadn't.

Suddenly the woods around her were blown away as Meliodas leapt into the air just as Ludoshel did. They were too fast to fully watch. Elizabeth fell to the ground. The forest around her was simply gone. The only trace that there had been one was the pine needles an slightly disturbed dirt. So this was the power of a demon prince.

After what felt like an hour, but was probably just minutes, Ludoshel was gone.

"Hmph" Meliodas said, a little disgruntled, after the small dot of light that was Ludoshel was gone. He landed on the ground surprisingly gracefully, like a cat. He turned fully to Elizabeth.

"Hello goddess." He said arrogantly. "If you don't want to die I suggest you run."

"W-what? Oh, right. Um." Elizabeth was trembling. The demon tilted his head and looked at her through his obsidian eyes.

"Well, what are you sitting there for? Run, shoo. Be glad that I'm in a good mood, or you would already be dead. Now, go."

Elizabeth got up on shaky legs and took another glance at the demon prince. Then, she bolted.
