It had been two weeks since Elizabeth had been spared by the demon known as Meliodas, and she wanted to talk to him. She hoped that maybe if she talked to him she could convince him to tell his father to stop the war, and that that would work. Surely even demons listen to reason right? Surely this one doesn't want the war anymore than she does?

This is why Elizabeth sent a letter asking him to meet her. There would be guards to ensure her safety of course. Elizabeth chose this day specifically because her mother was out, which meant that she wouldn't be caught. Elizabeth hadn't told her mom about the meeting because she knew that she would never approve.

So now Elizabeth is sitting in her red silk gown in the meeting room of her palace, waiting for the demon prince to arrive.

She heard shouting from behind the door.

"Demon! Demon! In the castle! Lady Elizabeth!"

"Silence, I was invited by your beloved princess." A muffled voice came from where the first voice had been. The "beloved" was dripping with poison, and Elizabeth couldn't help but shudder. The door slammed open.

There was the prince, dressed in a white ruffled shirt and a black jacket with matching black pants. The black mark on his forehead was smaller and neater than it had been last time she met him. His eyes studied her. She felt uncomfortable under his gaze so she brought her napkin up to her mouth.

"Please, sit." She said as pleasantly as she could. Everything she had been taught was telling her not to associate with the man, and yet, her heart told her she had to.

She had to admit, Meliodas was very handsome. His eyes looked like they could see your very soul, all while guarding his. His blonde hair was unruly, but almost as if by choice. He was clearly very muscular, even covered by clothing. Elizabeth blushed a little and hoped dearly that he couldn't notice it. She shouldn't think like this at a war council.

Meliodas grandly swept out the chair opposite her and sat down swiftly.
"Let's get down to business princess. I know you didn't call me over just to stare at me."

Elizabeth choked on her tea.

"What-I wasn't-that's no way to speak to a princess!" Even though she was embarrassed beyond belief she managed to draw herself up to her whole sitting height and stare him in the eye, now glaring a little. If he was going to be rude then so was she.

"Actually, my reason is very important. I know you don't like this war any more than I do, and I believe that if we both speak to our parents that we might be able to stop the war." Elizabeth finished passionately. She was sure she'd won him over and she had to hold back a smirk.

"No." Meliodas replied, eyes never leaving her face.

"N-no?! What do you mean no?! No to what?" Elizabeth sputtered.

"You're wrong, I quite like the war. I'm actually the leading general." Meliodas said, seemingly unaffected by anything that had happened. Meanwhile, Elizabeth's ideals were crashing around her.

"But our subjects are dying! Humans, who aren't even involved in the war are dying!"  Elizabeth's face was red. Meliodas was being stupid and unnecessarily violent. He leaned forward on the table, lacing his fingers together.

"And who, your highness, do you think is killing them?" He said it simply but it cut through Elizabeth like a knife.

"Well. I've had enough of this meeting." Meliodas said, standing out of his chair. "Thanks for the scones, they were burnt." And with that he was gone, leaving his words echoing in Elizabeth's head.
