EXT. ROAD - NIGHT
Dale hangs onto Paige's waist as they speed down the highway, he keeps his hands very still as he feels how solid her midsection is under the heavy leather of her clothes. But there's something poking into him, something that's hidden underneath the back of her jacket.
Paige slowly brings her bike to a stop as Dale looks confused.
DALE
What's wrong?
PAIGE
Don't you wanna break?
DALE
Well, yeah. But I don't think we have time.
PAIGE
Maybe we could talk too?
DALE
What do you mean?
PAIGE
I think there's a few things you don't know about this road.
DALE
The highway of tears?
PAIGE
I don't think you know the whole story.
Paige opens the kickstand on the bike and gets off. She takes off her helmet and looks back at Dale.
PAIGE (CONT'D)
It's not just this road, it's this night.
Dale gets off the bike and faces Paige.
DALE
So everyone goes crazy in one night? I don't get it.
PAIGE
Well, as you know this road has attracted a lot of serial killers in the past. Some killers come out of habit.
(Paige)
But a lot come because they're just drawn and they don't know why. Sometimes people who seem as normal as anyone else. They find themselves on this road and they change.
DALE
Why the hell are you trying to explain this to me? You're not making any sense.
PAIGE
This land was built above a ruin that hides an archaic evil. There's a pulsating force that resonates in the souls of people who walk over it. There are relics and monoliths that links to the darkness of the past. Killers are gonna be drawn and the only way to get out is to survive until morning.
DALE
Am I really suppose to believe this? Where are you getting this all from?
PAIGE
