He woke up with everything blurred together. He heard muffled voices and shadowy figures working on his body. They were human, that much he could tell but they had the feeling of something more. He faded out again.
When he woke up once more, he was on warm ground. The surroundings looked the same as the dream where he met the Goddess of Light, all white. However, this time there were orbs of light covered by a vale of human figures. As he walked along, he saw what looked like New York City and he was in a park. Willow trees were everywhere, and there was a big lake. "Well if this my heaven, then it is missing one very important person."
"This is not your heaven Matthew Murphy." A female voice told him. "It is a gathering place for the souls of the dead, like purgatory." He turned to see a woman in a sky blue dress. "They no longer have a body, so they cannot return to the world."
He snorted. "So that must mean that I am dead then."
"We were able to save you before you did pass on." She looked at him, her dark hair flowing. "You are now a guest of The Nine." She held out her hand for a shake.
Matt looked at her and felt she looked...familar. "Sorry if I don't believe that you are Gods or Goddess's. I only believe in one." He walked past her. "But for the sake of the world, how can I help you guys out?"
"By learning some damn respect for your new masters." A very angry person demanded. Matt saw a man in all black with a black robe. With a single look, he knew this was the big boss man. "You owe us your life."
"And I will repay that by keeping your people alive a bit longer. How about you tell me who you are."
"I am Aaron, this is Sarah. We are the only ones you need to know. Now come with us."
As they walked to where ever they were going, Matt was thinking that he had seen these two before. Not just on the plaque from the bar, but somewhere else. It bugged him.
They reached a camber of some sort. It was filled with the same fog form outside, but at different levels and heights. He also saw the other seven of nine, all looking at things in the fog. When one of them moved to another place, Matt saw a computer and looked around. He could now imagine that these were not Gods, but people who found the key to long lives. He looked at Aaron and decided that it was best to play along. "So, what now? Are you going to train me in the arts of using the energy?"
Aaron was handed a data pad. "No. You have the Power of Omega in you already. Also, you have been lucky enough to learn on your own, but we are going use our own power to unlock your full power, so you can beat Solas. You shall be our Paladin, our first...in an age." He guiled Matt to a circle. "Please stay there." Then went to a computer.
Matt heard the noise of the computers. A second later, The Nine started to 'chant' something to hide the sound. Then beams of light shot out towards him. When they hit him, he again felt his body feel like it was burning. He could not hear anything but small parts of what The Nine were saying. "Too much!" "Can't stop the process!" "Codes have been overwritten." He guessed that what they had in mind was going to shit. Maybe they only wanted to stop this Omega Awakening at a point, but maybe the Goddess of Light had put a stop to that.
When the burning stopped he landed on the pad, and a blast of energy shot out from him. He didn't do it on purpose, but it fried all of the computers and the fog makers blew up filling the whole room up that they couldn't see anyone. When the fog cleared Matt was breathing heavily, his body was steaming and had transformed to a build frame. He rose to look at himself, taking in his new body. The Nine were circled around him in awe as well.
Aaron stepped up to him. "Well, that was as planned." He coughed and waved his hand in front of his face. "Now you shall be equipped with the best armor and weapons that we have made."
