Five months had already passed by so quickly. Life was filled with rushing around, writing, dealing with Savannah, writing, fitting in Skype messages with the boys, writing, being busy, and you guessed it- writing. It was a crazy life. Six months was coming soon. It was almost summer.
I was sitting in my office, finishing up some work, when there was a knock at my office door. Not Savannah again! "Come in!" I called, hoping for the best. In walked Elizabeth Henning herself. She rarely did this. "Oh!" I quickly stood up and straightened my skirt, trying to look presentable.
"Hello Miss Fontaine. How was your day?" she asked, sitting down on the chair in front of my desk. She smiled a little.
Returning the smile, I got up, headed to the refreshments table, and started making a coffee for her. "It was wonderful. I really appreciate this job offer and I'm pleased to say it was one of the most exciting experiences." I replied happily.
She nodded curtly as I handed her a coffee. "I'm glad. You must know that you are a valued writer here at Galaxy News Magazine and I would like to take you up on an offer. How would you like to have a full time job here as the fashion and beauty editor in chief?" she asked, smiling a little.
I had to stifle a gasp and literally stop myself from throwing myself onto my knees and giving my life to her. "That- that would be an honor!" I breathed, returning to my seat, eyes wide.
"Well, if you would like to, that means living in New York and all. Let me know tomorrow before your six months ends. Thank you," she got up, and exited.
Live in New York?
God why was life so hard?

I clicked and clicked refresh, waiting for Niall's name to pop up on the online screen. "Come on, come on..." I urged quietly. Suddenly, Niall's name appeared with a green dot next to it. "Yes!" I exclaimed, mini-pumping a fist into the air. Clicking on his name, I started a Skype.
"Hey Dee!' he waved through the screen. Grinning, i waved back. "How's life?" he asked.
"Eh, it's okay... No... It's great!" I replied.
He laughed. "Good to hear. Now that your coming home soon-" he started.
I cut him off. "Right... About that..." I paused and he looked worried. "Um, Elizabeth Hennings gave me an offer to stay in New York and have a full time job here," I told him.
Niall looked down away from the camera. "Well, um, are you gonna take it?" he asked quietly.
"I don't know... It's so big and it's as an editor in chief!"
"Oh..." he drifted off. Suddenly, I burst in tears. "Don't cry Dee, it's fine!" he soothed, trying to calm me down. I wiped my eyes and put my head in my hands. Again, why does life have to be so hard? He got up and left the room, leaving me confused. Two minutes later, he came back with his guitar. Aww... Starting to strum notes, he looked at the camera and smiled.
Hey there Delilah what's it like in New York City
I'm a thousand miles awayBut girl tonight you look so pretty, yes you do
Times Square can't shine as bright as you, I swear it's true
Hey there Delilah don't you worry about the distance
I'm right there if you get lonely give this song another listen
Close your eyes, listen to my voice it's my disguise, I'm by your side
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me, Oh it's what you do to me, Oh it's what you do to me, What you do to me
The song kept on going until it was finished and slowly, my tears were gone. That song fit perfectly. I clapped when he was done as he set the guitar aside.
"It'll be fine," he repeated.
"Thanks," I replied.
After ten more minutes of talking, I decided to go to sleep.
"Bye Dee, hopefully see you in a week. I love you."
"Love you too." I signed off.

My last day of work. Or, maybe the start of my job. Depends if I wanted to take the offer.
My computer dinged referring to a new chat message from my email. I opened up the chatbox. Look at me. I'm at an office and chatting. How wonderful am I?
JessMason- Heard from the boys you got a job offer?
DelilahFontaine- Yeah...
JessMason- You gonna take it?
DelilahFontaine- I don't really know...
JessMason- All I can say: if you want it, take it, if you don't, don't!
DelilahFontaine: What about Niall?
JessMason- Well, do you love him?
DelilahFontaine- What? Of course!
JessMason- Because you know, once you have this job only they can visit you. And god who knows when that's gonna happen because they're always on tour or something.
DelilahFontaine- Exactly.
JessMason- Well if you really love him, don't take it. Simple.
DelilahFontaine- You're right... Gotta go, love you lots! xx
I shot up straight after hearing Jess had said. She was right. Almost running out the door and down the hall to the elevator, I pushed frantically at the elevator buttons, willing it to go down faster. The other people in the elevator were giving me weird looks. Right. The lift. These Americans have got me all confused I'm called crisps chips and chips french fries. The LIFT got to the first floor and I rushed out, heading to Elizabeth's large office.
"Ah, just the person I wanted to see. Have you made the desicion?" she asked, smiling warmly.
I nodded. "I'm sorry Mrs. Henning, but I hope in the future this job will be given to someone great. It's just that now isn't the right time for me. I'm sorry again and I should let you know that working here has been wonderful. Thank you,"
She nodded. "I value your choice. Good day and good luck with your future Miss Delilah Fontaine," she bid me goodbye. And we both shook hands, smiling.
Time to pack up and go, I guess.
