Robin

Cooper takes a last few turns around the yard as Denny and I stand on the porch, ready to relax after a long day. His arm is around me, and I'm leaning against him gratefully. I'm still tired after yesterday, but I do feel better.

I glance at Denny and smile. He's really the sweetest man in the world. I'm incredibly lucky to have him.

He grins at me and points up at the sky. I look and notice a shooting star.

"Make a wish," he tells me.

I hug him tightly. "What would I wish for, Denny? I already have everything I want."

I really do. I have him, which is the most important thing. But we also have a beautiful home, and I have a successful business. We have money, so we don't have to worry about any financial issues. We're trying for a family. And we have a perfect dog.

It seems like more than any one person should be entitled to, really. But I know Denny deserves it all after what he's been through, so I'm not going to complain.

Denny squeezes me. "Yeah. We do have everything, don't we?" His hand slides over my belly and he turns to gaze at me. "I hope, at least."

"It will happen, Denny," I assure him again. There's no reason to believe it won't. We're both perfectly healthy. We made sure before we started trying.

He nods. "I know. I just... hope it's soon."

I tug on his hand. "Come on. Let's get inside and give it another go tonight, huh?"

He raises his eyebrows at me and smirks. "I'd like that."

We call Cooper over and head up to bed to make all our dreams come true.
