"Who is this?" She asked curiously.

I swiftly turned my head, Haerin, Minhyuk, and I were nervously glancing at each other, my breath hitched, and my heart skipped a beat. I felt Taehyung latching onto my arm. I took my gaze off my two coworkers and rotated my head in Taehyung's direction. He had fear in his eyes and his lips were quivering. Why are we so nervous? I thought.

"Miran," Ms. Lee's voice echoed through my ears, "who is this?" I once again relocated my gaze to face Ms. Lee.

"Oh, Ms. Lee, this is Taehyung. He's my friend. He used to live close by me but then he moved here and we met up when we were going to the island." I gave her a nervous chuckle.

"Ah," She said loudly, "well then, it's nice to meet you Taehyung. I'm Ms. Lee." She spun towards Taehyung's direction and gave him a welcoming smile.

"Uh, it's nice to meet you too." He returned the warm smile and released my arm, relaxing a bit.

"Oh, Ms. Lee. This is some of the results that we got from some of the artifacts we found. The others are still getting analyzed." Haerin blurted and rushed to hand Ms. Lee the results.

"Thank you Haerin. I'll take care of the rest and then we can leave soon and go back to Seoul," She started to stride to the lab, "oh and by the way, you guys find some interesting things. Great job."

"Thanks!" We exclaimed in unison.

"We should go back to the hotel now, we have to get up early." Minhyuk suggested, after yawning.

We all agreed, "Wait. What about Taehyung? Where is he going to stay?" Haerin stopped us as we were heading towards the door that led outside.

"I guess he can stay with Minhyuk." My suggestion came out as a whisper since I was tired and didn't have a lot of energy left.

"Yeah, that's a good idea," Haerin agreed, "you should also let him borrow some clothes, since his are worn out and he just has that blanket. I'm surprised Ms. Lee didn't ask about it."

"Okay, he can stay with me." Minhyuk obliged.

Since we settled it, we started to continue out the door into the parking lot. The breeze was colder. My hands instantly went numb, my nose got stuffy, and multiple shivers ran down my spine. I looked up at the dark, blue sky. More stars clustered around the bright sphere.

"Miran, I'm riding with you again, right?" Haerin interrupted the silence. The wind and crickets were no longer the only ones making noise.

"Yeah. Also, Minhyuk, Taehyung will be riding with you." Minhyuk shifted his eyes off Taehyung and he gave me a thumbs up.

I rummaged inside my bag for my car keys. I finally found after and eternity of searching. I took hold of the keys and gripped them in my cold hands. I searched for the remote to unlock my car. Once I found the right button, the car made an alarming beep.

"Bye, Miran. Bye, Haerin." Minhyuk shouted and we spun around and waved to them. Taehyung waved back, having his boxy grin on full view.

After a few more feet we reached my car. I opened the driver's side door and Haerin went to the passenger's side. My hand grazed the cold handle of the door. I shivered once again and grasped the handle and pulled until it clicked. I swiftly opened the door all the way and climbed inside. The seat was as cold as Antarctica. Haerin pulled her door closed harshly; guarding us from the horrible cold. I rushed to put the key in the ignition and I rotated it so it would start.

-

We stayed in the parking lot until the car warmed up and the heat unfroze our bodies. I slowly backed up and made my why to the main road, to only find ourselves in traffic.

"Seriously," Haerin groaned, "come on, I'm tired." I snorted at Haerin's remark, I didn't blame her though.

The blinding red light finally turned green. I sighed in relief as the cars started to move and we got closer to
our destination.

-

We pulled into the parking lot of the hotel and got out of the car, rushing inside to get away from the cold. When we got inside it was deserted, it was quiet apart from the wind that was howling outside, it was frosty, dangerous wind. We made our way to the elevator. Haerin tapped on the button so it would open. We waited for a while until the bulky door slowly opened wide and they soon were hidden. We stepped inside and pushed the right button to go to the floor we're on. Once again the elevator's doors came into view and they slowly closed. The elevator shaft moved smoothly. It dinged when we were on our floor. We made our way to our rooms.

"I guess the boys got here before. I'll be surprised if they didn't stop to eat." Haerin mumbled and gave a slight chuckle.

"Minhyuk does like his food." I replied, sliding the card in the slot and twisted the door knob, "Well, good night Haerin." I yawned and gave her a slight hug and she unlocked her room.

"Good night Miran." She gave me a warm, tired smile.

I entered my room and sat my things down. My throat felt scratchy, and dry. I went to get water but it wasn't cold enough. I decided to go to the ice machine that was in the lounge. I went back out into the hall and the crisp air hit my face making me shiver again. I walked into the lounge and strolled to the ice machine. I scooped some of the ice into the cup. It left condensation on the outside of the cup. It made my hands become frozen and stiff. I carefully glided my way back to the elevator and marched my way back to my room.

-

I drank the water and it instantly smoothed my throat so it was no longer dry. I leaped onto the bed and drifted to sleep, hoping I wouldn't wake up again. I was having a good dream until I heard something interrupting my sleep...

"Miran, something happened!" I heard Haerin shout.
