"He's one of my friends," He stated.I stood there with no emotion. Until, I realized what he just told me.
"Are you sure?" I asked cautiously, trying not to offend him.
"Yeah, I'm positive." He seemed a little upset but, he wasn't trying to show it.
"Okay, well-Wait," I cut myself off, thinking of something that was lingering in my mind. "If that was him. Why didn't he recognize you?"
"I don't know. I guess he... he doesn't remember me." He drifted off, far into space it seemed.
Well, that impaled my heart, I pondered.
"Uh, well, don't think to much about it. He might have just not said anything because he was too busy with his job." I tried reassuring him. It didn't seem to work.
"No. Hoseok's not like that. He probably would've been ecstatic to see me. That is, if he remembered me." His voice broke. More like his whole voice box shattered.
I tried to consider other options to tell him; to try and ease him. I couldn't. I couldn't think of anything else to say.
"Listen. We'll figure it out. So just calm down for now, Taehyung." I try to say soothingly, even though I was someone getting a little agitated.
-
After a few minutes, he was finally in a
state of serenity."Hey Taehyung, could you maybe give the phone back to Minhyuk? Please," I broke the quietness.
"Sure. Hang on." He said, his voice hushed.
I heard rustling and incoherent words while waiting for Minhyuk to get the phone.
"Yes," he questioned, sounding a little groggy.
"Oh sorry, did I wake you up?" I apologized.
"It's fine. I just dozed off for a few minutes while waiting for my phone," He replied with a slight yawn.
"What do you think is going on," I asked him, unsure. "Do you think that that driver lost his memory?"
"I really don't know. He could have." He whispered quietly, making sure Taehyung didn't hear.
"Maybe he had an accident," I inferred.
"That makes sense," He agreed, yawning once again.
"It's getting late. I guess we can talk later," I told him, burying myself under my blankets.
"Okay. Good night," He said tiredly.
"Good night," I yawned.
I ended the call, setting my phone down onto my nightstand.
I buried my face into my pillows, hugging my soft, warm blankets.
-
Beep, beep, beep.
I rolled over and slammed my hand on the not-so-friendly alarm clock.
I slid myself off my bed lazily.
I dragged myself to my bathroom so I could wash my face and brush my teeth.
While I was brushing my teeth I went to the kitchen to boil water so I could make tea.
I felt a little more refreshed because I got more sleep than usual. I felt a little motivated; the motivation would leave in probably five minutes.
-
I got ready and decided to relax a little before I have to check into work.
It was a short day so I could do more things after work.
