Things only seemed to get worse, as school turned into another hell for Jughead... Bullies were Everywhere. As he just wished that his senior year would be over already yet alas he still had months to go before he could ever leave the hell that just so happened to be inside hell.

Fangs had been more depressed than ever before as he began to distance himself from the group. Although could anyone blame him? He had been traumatized, no longer carrying had that little spark of hope in his eyes. He didn't even talk unless he had to and that seemed something that showed just how depressed he really had been becoming.

Yet nothing could have ever prepared any of them for the disease that began to spread... It occurred like a never-ending way for Nick Saint Claire to take down the population without even lifting a finger. Worst of all that meant that all he would be doing is cutting down even more on health care and making only available for the rich.

And the rich right now is what Jughead seemed to be having trouble with. Although his best friend bared even bigger issues to deal with... Her own mother.

"I newd fowd," Lilly cried looking up at her mother for help... Though her mother never answered as suddenly Betty walked in with a sigh from being in the meadow that Sunday afternoon not knowing how bad that it had gotten at home.

"Mom she asked you a question," The older sister mumbled with a sigh checking the empty pantry for any food that they might have left.

"I don't have any," Alice mumbled never looking up from the floor. "And I don't feel like going to get any-"

"When the hell are you going to actually be my mother again?" Betty asked finally fed up with the way that her mother had been treating them.

"There is no sense to me trying without your father here," She mumbled with a sigh.

"Bullshit mom we still have a chance to-"

"What live? Oh no Betty were all going to die! You were one of the people that I thought would already know that by now," Alice yelled raising her voice so loud it caused Lilly to recoil back in fear. She had no clue what had been going on her sister and mother talking way to fast for her to comprehend anything.

"Come on Lilly we're going to get our own food," The blonde older sister mumbled lifting up the small girl into her arms, them leaving soon after.

Thoughts were running through Betty's head as she knew one thing and one thing only. That the women in that house wasn't the mother she had once known. A woman so damaged having been corrupted by the capital. The blonde vowed at that very moment to never let the capital have its way to always keep fighting to protect Lilly.

If only she knew how challenging that would turn out being... If only she knew that even if she tried one of those things would end up happening.

The next day felt longer than ever as the friends went to school, which felt like the world had been ending. "Your nothing but a stupid poor boy!" Yelled the richest kid in Riverdale his friends snickering looking at the worn-out flannel-wearing clad with smirks.

He had a thing against Jughead Jones, oh gosh everyone knew about it. Every other kid that went to this godforsaken high school seemed poor. He had it out for the kid that stole Betty from him-though no one knew that...

The bully didn't have anything more than anyone else... Except foodwise, oh and some way nicer clothes. So he may be cleaner and even have more flesh than his poor victim yet that didn't make him any better... The raven-haired clad being the better person- All the kids knew that.

"Leave him the fuck alone!" His best friend exclaimed coming into view.

"Betts just... Go," The raven-haired man whispered looking at her with pleading eyes.

No one knew how this would end up, gosh it all happened after the final bell. Yet she didn't seem to care not wanting to leave her best friend behind... She couldn't.

"Aw is your girlfriend here to protect you?" The bully laughed, his spit pelting their faces, the friends both shot disgusted glances his way. "Your nothing but trash... Answer me!"

He pinned the poor boy against the wall. "Just leave him alone," The best friend tried to reason although the bully wasn't having any of it. All eyes turned her way as she continued. "He never did anything to you,"

However before anyone could do anything to stop it, a beating began.

~

"W-Why would you just let him do that to you?" Betty asked in pure anger looking away with an angry huff. "You could have at least fought back!"

"Hey, at least this way I'm not suspended," He mumbled trying to lighten with mood... Although it didn't play out as well as he had hoped.

He wiped the side of his mouth with a wince, only to smear the blood. "I just don't know what I'm going to tell mom and JB," He mumbled as they made way home.

"I'm just glad I left to get the principle or you could be dead!" She exclaimed as he took her hand in his in a sense of trying to soothe her.

They were on their way down the street, everyone, and everything quiet... Very quiet. Not even a cricket. "Do you hear that?" Her friend asked all so suddenly.

"No-"

"Exactly!" He yelled their eyes gazing around the area as both noticed the Hushers- Leaving Jughead's house.

"Mom JB?" Jughead asked quickly running in past them gripping his best friend's hand really tight and dragging her along.

Yet before they could even enter the house they ran into Jughead's mother with a tear-stained face as the tears were still flowing freely like a waterfall. "What's wrong?" Betty asked confused eyeing the hushers from behind them.

"T-They killed Jellybean!" The mother cried collapsing on the floor in tears.

Both of the friends wanted so badly to comfort the mother yet they were in so much shock and grief themselves they couldn't even seem to comprehend what had been going on... As things from then on only got worse- As if that were even possible.

The hushers were demanding money something that poor Glady Jones just didn't have enough of- she tried to reason with them tell them the truth even though it had been already too late her little girl had died in front of her eyes... Dead and never coming back.

The horror.

This only seemed to not only make her depressed on the other hand furious... Furious at the hushers and the president furious that her other son and best friend who had been nothing less of a daughter to her were living in poverty and in this godforsaken place and yet there seemed nothing that she could do to end it all.

Nothing safe anymore... Not even their own minds everyone either dying or turning into monsters and the worst part being that most people didn't even realize what had been occurring. Everyone just wanted to live even though now they were barely even living.

Everyone had been devastated beyond repair as the days still went on, Nick Saint Claire's rule still evident to go on... Everyone still searching and praying for a way to stop the president yet what they should have been looking for should be a way out to freedom.

The freedom that they so deserved.

Although the chaotic filled country did not stop it only got worse.
