"Oh Jug," Betty whispered sitting beside his head, staring at his beautiful features.

If only things could be different. She thought the tears now freely flowing. If only things could just be ok for once.

Yet they weren't. Nothing seemed to be alright anymore... Her best friend could die and she didn't know how to take that.

"I've done all that I could," His mother whispered looking down at her son. "We should all get to bed... Hopefully, things will be better in the morning,"

The blood-soaked through the fabric as the gently laid it over his newly sewed an open wounds. As the snow had done little to numb all the pain he had been engulfed in and nothing to help the mental state that he would be in with all the new scars now lining his back.

Sweet Pea already passed out on the small couch as Fangs could be found laying below him staring at the ceiling.

"Think he'll be ok?" He asked breaking the silence.

"I hope so," She whispered looking at the peacefully sleeping Jughead, all the pain had vanished from his features as all that seemed to be left behind were his light breathes.

"Goodnight Fangs," She whispered with a yawn laying her head next to her best friends taking his cold hand in hers.

"Night," He mumbled shutting his eyes.

The next morning Betty woke up with a startle seeing both SweetPea and Fangs gone, and that's when she realized that it had been the sound of the door. Sighing she turned toward her best friend who could be found still asleep brushing the hair out of his face only for it to wake him.

"Betts..." He whispered barely audible she almost couldn't hear him.

"We should have run away Jug," She mumbled looking away guilt-filled. "This is all my fault,"

"No," He suddenly stated a little louder. "It's mine- Thanks for everything but... You need to stay away, I can't risk getting you into more trouble,"

"Juggie," She mumbled running her thumb along his knuckles. "There is no way that you could ask that of me,"

"I love you, Betty," He breathed looking above her not wanting to have any eye contact. "I just want what's best,"

Before he could even get out anymore she placed her lips on his, slowly as they pulled away for much need air. His eyes gazed upon her cheek as he gave a sorrow-filled look as there laid a cut from days before.

"Let's runaway," Betty suddenly sated looking at her best friend with tear-filled eyes. "I want to run away,"

"I-I'd never make it like this," He whispered voice cracking.

"Once you're all healed... We leave with our families and-"

"We're in," Two people stated from the doorway.

The best friend's gaze slowly turned to Sweet Pea and Fangs carrying two bowls of snow with smiles slowly spreading across their faces. "I want out of this hell hole," Sweet Pea whispered looking at his friends with wide eyes. "Do you think we could make it?"

None of them knew what to say, there is no way of knowing what needed to be said next. "No, but we could try... And make sure nothing like this ever happens again!" The blonde exclaimed earning a cheer from Fangs.

Maybe they could getaway. Maybe... Just maybe they could get lucky enough.

Bety's fingers ran through her best friend's hair instantly calming him from all the pain that he's in. As his eyes gazed upon her in such love. They didn't talk about the kiss, no they couldn't not until they were alone. Maybe just maybe they would form a relationship however right now- they were still best friends and that's all that they were ever going to be.

"So do you think we can actually pull this off?" Sweet Pea asked breaking the silence.

"I hope so..." The blue-eyed girl whispered as the raven-haired man took her hand and placed it gently in his.

"Are you guys trying to make us puke? Get a room!" Fangs exclaimed shielding his eyes.

"Yeah and while you are at it start dating already!" Their other friend piped in.

"First off we're in a room, second off..." She trailed off not knowing what to say.

"See! You are meant to be together-"

"Just shut up-"

"I love you, Betty," The serpent breathed getting all of their attention.

"I know," His best friend mumbled back. "I love you too,"

"For the love of God-" Fangs started only for Jughead's mother to walk in bearing little food.

"I hope that this will do, it's all we have." She whispered giving the kids a smile.

"Oh god," Betty whispered getting everyone's attention. "If Jug is out of work then who'll make the most money?"

"That's what I've come to tell you... I'm going to work more, from sunrise to sunset." His mother explained with a sigh.

"No mom," The raven-haired man gasped. "I can't let you do that,"

"Well, we don't have a choice do we?" She asked with a cry. "I would do anything for you, honey," With that, she kissed the top of his head. "I'm leaving for work now... Please keep a good eye on him,"

The friends nodded as minutes later his mother left... Things were going to get real- and fast.

"How do we tell our parents about running away?" The question still lingering in Betty's mind late that night seemingly all she seemed able to think about. Her mother would never agree upon it and right from the get-go. She already knew that it would never happen in a million years.

It had been to go to be true.

Although there seemed one thing that stood out also over all the other things that were lingering about in that mind he's. That happened to be how unsafe it seemed to be for her little sister if they stayed there any longer...

That being when she made the decision- Fight for what she wanted- And what she wanted had been indeed freedom... More than anything in the whole world.

"What the hell?" Betty questioned as she woke up to someone poking her.

"I newd food," The young girl cried it had been Lilly?

"Lil?" She asked confused sitting up. "What are you doing at Jughead's house?"

"What are you talking about?" Jughead asked from beside her.

"Wait where are we?" She asked jumping up and out of the covers. "When did I get here?" She glanced around the room fast looking over the walls.

The walls looked to be her house-

"You're in our house in Riverdale... You got everything after your mom passed away- Are you ok?" He asked confused placing a hand on her forehead. "Well, no fever,"

"No... No... No," She mumbled getting up and out of the bed with a jump.

"Mowm?" The little girl asked looking her up and down.

Betty looked at her confused finally putting two and two together as then suddenly she happened to be in a new place running through the woods with Jughead by her side.

"What's going on?" She asked through breathes.

"The hushers they found us... In the meadow!" He exclaimed glancing back for a split second.

"We'll never outrun them," She mumbled thinking everything through her mind.

"I know," He whispered. "At least we'll die together," They could hear the faint bark of dogs from behind them as both friends glanced at each other knowing exactly what seemed going to happen.

At least we died together. Were Betty's last thoughts before she bolted upright and out of sleep.

However, as some people say... Dreams can predict the future.
