"What was what about?" He says to me while smirking a little.
I roll my eyes and give him a death stare.
"You know what." I state.
He just shakes his head and forms a straight smile with his lips, he really is trying to play with me.
"Anyway, I need to pick up my friends friend before taking you home."
"I just got a text now." He continues while showing me his phone.
I take a deep breath and then make him promise to take me home after.
Later on we arrive at a family house on a busy but small street. I squint my eyes in focus and Maverick is leaving the house waving his hand to a blonde woman who is standing in the door way and staring straight at Ryder and then her gazes wanders to me, I get a little uncomfortable and move my eyes away from her.
The car door slams shut and Maverick is in the back seat.
Maverick? What the heck?
"Oh hey Nev." He says in a cheery tone making Ryder's jaw clench.
"Hey Maverick, I didn't know you knew Ryder." I say curiously.

Ryder's POV
I can hardly stand sitting in here driving with this douchebag in the car, he is getting on my nerves and Nevaeh isn't helping either.
I watch in the wing mirror at both of them chattering away and I can't hear what they're saying, because of the thoughts shooting in and out of me, but I pretend I do.
We finally arrive at this random house and I stop the car abruptly.
"Woah Ryder." Nevaeh says in a concerned tone. I ignore her and motion for Maverick to get the hell out of my car.
Once he gets the message he opens the door a little and then turns his head to Nevaeh."You look nice tonight Nevaeh." He tells her.
My blood bubbles and I want to rip is tongue out. I'm not sure why but it's just how I feel when other people tell her that.
Maverick walks out of the car and my friend—Zeke— walks up to my window and knocks on the glass, I press a button to roll the window down.
"You coming in bro?" He asks with a pint of beer in his hand.
"Nah, I've got things to do tonight." I say with a little smile and glare over at Nevaeh.
"Ooh hoo have fun." He laughs and winks.
I give him a warming yet cold smile and roll the window back up and he stumbles off back into the party.
"Why?" I ask Nevaeh seriously.
She looks at me confused and then suddenly remembers what happened.
"I can do whatever I want." She says angrily.
I feel vicious fire swell around me and I can't hold it in anymore.
"BUT WHAT IF I DON'T WANT YOU TO!?" I yell to her.
She looks at me with fear swirling in her eyes. And I know I've gone to far.
"I didn't ask for you to check on my life!" She shouts.
I grip onto the steering wheel tighter and set my gaze onto the road so that I don't do anything stupid.
"It's not like we're dating, It's not like you actually care about me!" She screams while smacking her hands onto the dash board.
