As I awake, Friday night's memories skip about my mind. I remember meeting and turning down Maverick, Kaleb scowling me for coming back late and not telling him, I still hate it when he acts like my Mum.

I squat onto my window seat and adjust myself so that I am comfortable. I lie there in my pyjamas looking out of the window where my life changed forever, where I saw Ryder for the first time in my life. When he came into my life and ruffled my feathers, made me feel vulnerable. Made me feel things I've never felt before. Everything used to be clear, what I was going to do for my future, my thoughts and my room. But now that's all a mess and I can't even think straight anymore, what has he done to me?

I quickly rush down stairs to get a drink of hot chocolate to soothe me.
Once I get down stairs, I rummage through the cupboards to find the hot coco packet and warm it up with milk.

As I spin the silver spoon into the cup, I notice that the house is weirdly quiet and I embrace it.
I get back upstairs onto my window seat and pick up a book 'Choice' I read the title aloud and dive straight into the book that I barely notice the rain patter on the window pane, but I find it calming so I don't pay any attention to it.

A few hours later I can feel myself not focusing onto the book anymore, instead my mind flows towards Ryder. I need to see him.

I launch myself off of the seat and throw a hoodie on, some blue jeans and a pair of black and white Nike shoes. The hoodie is large and loose and it hangs off my body a little too much but at least it keeps me warm, I tip-toe down stairs careful not to make any noise that will wake the house up.

When I make it to the door, I throw the door open but I am stopped by a voice.

"Nevaeh, get back inside please." the deep voice demands calmly.

I turn around drowsily and face the man of the voice. Tyler.

"Why?" I snap.

"Because I have some important information that I need to tell you about." He finally says.

I scoff but still follow him into the living room and smash myself onto the couch.

"What's so special then?" I ask, not really caring.

"I need you to stay today, because I've invited someone over." He states while sitting at the arm chair opposite me.

"Who?" I sigh.

"I want you to meet my girlfriend." He mumbles.

I nearly choke on the words but try to keep my shock hidden.

"Damn my scars just reopened." I joke. Meaning it figuratively, because I have still not gotten over the fact that mom was gone.

Tyler looks at me with a confused expression and then goes on to explain what is going to happen.

"Her name is Cassandra Dubois." He says calmly, making me tense up. I don't want, nor do I need a new mom.

"We are having dinner tonight, and you're going to help make it." He states.

"This is not fair!" I shout.

"What about Kaleb?" I ask.

"He's out getting the groceries." He declares.

I scoff, 'getting the groceries'. Yeah right I bet he's just at some persons house getting wasted and it's only 12:00.
I can feel the absurdity taking over my body and I hurriedly scurry up the stairs making creaks on each step.
