I walked into the ball room. To the right of me I could see my father drinking a glass of Champaign. I slowly made my way over to him. When I reached the table I said, "is this seat taken?"

He smiled and got up, "you look beautiful."

"Thank you dad," I smiled then we took our seats.

"I'm sorry," he looked down.

"You were protecting me. The one who should be saying sorry is me. You were going to let me kill you just to protect me. I'm sorry."

"Well how about dinner?"

"There's something I want to talk to you about?"

The waiter walked over and my father ordered for the two of us. When the waiter left my father said, "we came here when you were a child. I'm sorry I know your all grown up now. It's just-"

I cut him off, "you just got back your daughter. I would expect nothing less"

He smiled, "what did you want to talk to me about?"

"I, well, I think I'm... I really like Tony."

He raised his voice a little, "stark!"

"Look. He's got his problems. Hell we all do. Dad I know you just got me back and now you don't want to lose me and I get that. Believe me I do," he gave me a questioned look, "I've lived a long and cold life and I've lost friends and family along the way so I know what it's like to lose your little girl," fury kept quite, "I really like him and I'd like it if you opened up my files to him and him alone."

"Maria is this what you want?"

"He may run away after he finds out your my father but I don't care. He should know the truth."

The waiter placed the food on the table then filled up our glasses, "will there be anything else?"

My father said, "no thank you."

The waiter smiled then left. My father and I ate then went outside.

"Can I offer you a lift back to the tower?"

"No thank you," I hugged him goodbye, "thanks for dinner," I flew off.
