Steve and I walked off the elevator, "Steve Rogers you just saved the world... What are you going to do now?"

Steve laughed, "I can't believe those kids went through all that."

"I know."

The two off us climbed into the ring, "tony are you alright?"

"Yes. I'm fine. Come on let's train."

"You've been acting funny since all this ended. Spill or I'll call Natasha."

I gave Steve a look, "fine. Fine," I took a deep breath, "being in the hospital. Watching Maria just lay there helpless. All this money and power and I couldn't do anything to help her," I looked down, "she means the world to me Steve and the thought of losing her," I looked back at him eyes trying to fight back tears, "I don't know what I'd do if I lost her."

"She's a fighter like her old man. It's going to take a lot to get rid of her."

"I," I got out of the ring and went to the computer screen, "I know what I have to do," I looked back at Steve.

Steve walked over to me, "what?"

"I'm going to make her mine before I miss my chance and I want you to be my best man."

He smiled, "thank you."

"Although there's just one problem."

"What's that?"

"I have to ask her father," I took a deep breath, "Jarvis find all jewelry shops in Manhattan."

"Yes sir. Will there be anything else?"

"Send the results to my lab. Thank you Jarvis."

"You are most welcome sir."

Steve and I walked over to the elevator.

--- FURY'S OFFICE ---

"Director Fury I have something to ask you."

"No."

"You don't even know what I'm going to ask."

Fury got out of his seat, "and I don't have time."

Steve spoke up, "you need time for this Sir."

"Look I know you don't like me. I got that from the moment we met."

"Get to the point Stark."

"I love your Daughter Sir and I came here to ask you for permission, your blessing, to marry Maria."

"And you brought Captain Rogers why?"

"So you didn't shoot me out an air lock."

He smiled, "take care of my daughter Tony," fury placed his hand out in front of me, "yes."

I shook Fury's hand, "thank you sir."

We left Fury's office.

"I'll have Agent Hill stop by with my daughters files."

"Thank you sir."

Fury left.
