Chapter 9 - Just DO IT!

In the end, there is no real choice. Either do NOTHING or just DO IT!  Unless you want to get to the end of your life with nothing but regret, it is time to act! God asks us to choose life, to choose Him, and if we are honest in searching our hearts, honest in knowing ourselves fully, we know that there isn't any other choice to make. Real life is only through God. He brought us to life. While we have the option of existence, the option of just getting by, struggling, being in a state of frustration, we all know deep in our hearts that is not life at all.  Who wants a barely get by life? Who wants to be asked at the end of their life what they did, how they lived and have the average answer?

My hope is that your calling is screaming loudly. My hope is that what you may have deemed a mid-life crisis or some other time of true unhappiness and discontent, you now understand as your not yet being on your path, that you are not yet walking towards your true purpose in life. I believe that the older we get, the louder our purpose calls to us, and the less we are able to quiet it. You see no matter how much you deny it; you know what your calling is. It speaks to you, it summons you, and it speaks for you, shining a light into this very dark world.

Your purpose is needed in the world. God would not have implanted it deep in your heart if it weren't. I used to wonder sometimes where the people who are supposed to help me on my journey are. Why aren't they showing up? Then God put something on my heart. If I am not doing what I am destined to do, out of fear, self-deception, listening to others, then maybe those people who were supposed to help me are doing the same. That was the moment God revealed to me how selfish I was being. That was the moment I began to understand how deep our connection to others truly is.

I also want to make an important point about living a life with God. I am not talking about religion. I am talking about a relationship. I do not believe for one second that Jesus died for us on that cross to give us religion. He wants a relationship with us. He wants us to be better because of Him. He wants us to be the light in this dark world that we are meant to be, and in the process lead people to Him. God is love, and we were born to know that. We were born to carry that love out into the world and to use our gifts to help His people. It is really very simple, yet sadly most of us fail. Sadly most people will live their entire lives without ever becoming what God has destined for them. But for you and me, and everyone we share this lesson with, it can be different. It can be right, and it can be everything it was meant to be.

Now we know. Now we understand. Now we see the path, the one true path that has been waiting for us. The one that will lead us to our full potential and use every single drop of our uniqueness in a beautiful and perfect way that we cannot even begin to imagine. We will finally extend all that we are out into the world, reaching every person we were destined to reach while finding that peace that truly does transcend human understanding.

Have you been allowing your dreams to fade away? Have you given away your joy to frustration? Have you refused to have a relationship with the one who called you to life? These are the ways that Satan works in the world. He wants to keep us rooted in the chaos, he wants us to be angry and frustrated and full of resentment. Why? Because then we will not know God, we will not walk in love, and we will never fulfill our God-given purpose to serve others in love with all that we are.

Satan wants to win. Peace is his failure and he will do all he can in this world to keep each of us from it. But I ask you to think about the questions God put on my heart and ask yourself. What if we each become all that we are meant to be? What if we used our gifts, the ones we haven't yet fully embraced? What if together we each fulfilled our part of this big fabric that has each one of us intertwined in perfect and God-ordained harmony? What if? I look at our world as a big puzzle and each of us as a unique and required piece. Without each of us, the puzzle will never be complete. Not ever. So, remember you are important, you are needed, and you were created to join others in fulfilling a much bigger purpose.

You are in this world but not of it. If you want to do what you are destined to do than you need to know that. You need to rise above it and not get stuck. The choice is ours. God gave us free will for one purpose, to choose life or to choose death. But the life and death He speaks of are not as defined by man. Life is living in love, it is walking the path that we are destined to be on, it is loving each and every person God puts before us, and it is using our gifts to serve. It is beautiful and simple and joyous. It is the amazing energy that emanates from us and warms the souls of all we encounter. It is truly the miracle of what each of us can and should be.
