Brynn

"Merry Christmas." My mother greeted me when I got out of bed. "What are you doing in my room?" I asked combing through my hair. "It's Christmas silly. Our family's waiting downstairs. "I forgot." I smiled. "Did you invite your friends as well?" Mom asked me and I nodded. I needed some moral support. Christmas always gets hectic and for some reason always ends up in a big family fight.
I didn't get it. How can you fight with your own blood like that? We end up not seeing them for a couple of months and then we makeup and next year same old same old.

I went downstairs to find my friends talking to my family. "Oh, there she is. You look beautiful." My grandma said while kissing my cheek. "Merry Christmas grandma."
"Don't forget your grandfather," Grandpa told me. I laughed and kissed his cheek.
I greeted my uncle's and aunts before we all sat down at the table. While my mom was in the kitchen with dad preparing the food we all got into our own conversations.

"How are you?" Naomi asked. "I'm fine." I smiled. "Have you heard from Jason?" Kyle asked knowing I was a bit worried. Exams flew by and now it's winter break so I won't be seeing him.
"I still think you should stay away from him," Mia said. "That he saved you doesn't make up for the fact that he is a cruel criminal." She whispered so nobody heard what we were talking about.

With my right hand, I took a sip of my champagne. "Good thing about Christmas. Lots of alcohol." I said and they all laughed knowing I was joking. I'm not that, let's drink until we pass out, kinda girl.

"So how are your grades darling?" My grandma asked me. "Great. I've been getting straight A's." I told her. I am pretty proud of that. My report card was great as well.
"That's great to hear. Are you nice to your teachers?" Grandpa asked this time. "I am."
"So we got some news." My aunt said while she looks at my cousin. I hate my cousin. Always trying to get attention. But I knew she hated me too.
"Yes, I'm transferring to your school." Avery, my cousin said. I immediately looked at my friends praying this was a joke. Please god, let this be a joke.
"My first day is Monday after the break." I wish I was going to die. Now.
"What's the reason you're transferring to our school?" Kyle asked knowing everyone wanted to know.
"We are moving." She said. Moving? Here to fucking Calabasas.
"Even better, hey new neighbor." She told me and I looked at my mom not pleased with what I was hearing. And she knew damn well I didn't like this.
"You can't be, I don't want you there," I said a bit surprised by what I just said.
"BRYNN, MIND WHAT YOU'RE SAYING!" my mom yelled at me.
"I knew we shouldn't have come here, always the same with ya guys!" My aunt now yelled back. Here we go again, ever thought I would be the one to start the fight. My friends looked at me shocked.
"Learn your daughter some manners!" My uncle, Avery's father spat angrily.
"Don't talk about my grandchild like that!" My grandma said and you know when your grandma or grandpa was getting involved it meant nothing good.
"My daughter is your grandchild too!" My aunt yelled.
"I'm your mother, show some respect, Elsa." My grandma spat at my aunt.

It was all very awkward, I and my friends just stared at the whole thing.

"Brynn, apologize." My uncle commanded.
"So now she can't be sharing her honest opinion?" My grandpa asked.
I didn't mind apologizing but I didn't get a word between them.
"I want to be a family where you can be honest with each other!" My grandpa yelled.
"She's turning on her own blood!" My aunt yelled. She looked like a clown with all her make-up.
"Let's be real. We all know they never liked each other." My dad said.

Wait for what? Do they know?

After a long fight, they all went home. My grandma gave me one last hug. "I'll always be here for you darling." I smiled. It's the sweetest thing ever.
She's the sweetest.
"We'll text you. Bye." My friends said to me clearly they weren't expecting this. Good thing that I did.

After helping my parents clean up because my bitchy aunt threw checked around the house, I went upstairs and fell asleep.

What a day.
