(Y/n) P.O.V.
"Oi, wake up, brat."
I slowly turn towards the direction, where the voice came from. It's captain. I can't remember his name. Or did he even mention it?
"Get up."
I do as ordered and flick my ears. It feels weird to have normal clothes and not be covered in mood. The other guy got me a dark shirt and white jeans, that fit me pretty well. You couldn't see any bruises on my body, but the ones on my face were visible.
"Good morning, captain." I say silently as always. I hear a slight 'tch' and he rolls his eyes.
"Levi for you, brat. You're not a cadet." I stare at him, taking the information in. He's cold and strong. At least I could guess that he was from the way the other guy was scared of him, despite Levi's small figure. "Let's go."
We step out of the basement, go up the stairs and end up in a huge hallway. I keep my ears low and tail behind my back, trying not to draw attention of other cadets. I can't help but stare. Everyone's so chatty, smiling or even laughing.
"Oi, brat" Levi raises his bored voice and I immediately look at him. "Listen when I'm talking. Tch"
"Sorry, sir." I silently apologise, walking a few steps behind.
"Idiot." The male sighs and runs his hand trough hair. "I was asking how you ended up at that robber's house"
"He bought me" I answer straightforwardly and continue watching his back as Levi stiffens. "There was an slave auction going on and me and my mother happened to be auctioned. He bought me there."
"Where's your mother now?" Levi looked back at me over his shoulder.
I meet his eyes for a second and shift my arms behind my back. "She's dead, sir."
"Hm." Levi looks away and stays silent for the rest of the way.
We reach large wooden doors as he pushes them and enters a huge dining-room. I look around and spot the guy from yesterday with a couple of other cadets chatting in the corner. I meet his eyes for a second, but decide to follow Levi to another table.
Levi sits next to a couple of other people I don't seem to recognise. I stand next to a wall, waiting for orders and Levi looks back at me. He stares silently but after a while turns around to the others.
I take this as a chance to acknowledge people in the dining-room. There are many cadets and half of them wear these green capes, I've only seen a few times throughout my life in the Underground.
I can't help but shake my head from all the racket in the room. I slightly pet the insides of my ears to let them adjust. Where I used to live any sound was forbidden and would only result in a punishment. This sudden change made my ears sensitive and I was starting to feel anxious.
"Oi, brat. Concentrate."
I once again shake my head and look up only to meet grey cold eyes. I shift my ears to the sides and stand firmly again. "I'm sorry, sir."
A loud crash echoes through the dining-room and a woman with glasses and dark brown hair tied into a ponytail jumps out of her seat. Her chair has fallen back, but she doesn't seem to mind it.
She walks up to me and fixes her glasses. I look to Levi, waiting for a command to move, but he gets his cup of tea and watches what's happening.
"This is incredible!" She shouts running around. Suddenly I feel a huge discomfort and anxiety kick in as the mysterious woman grabs my tail.
At this point I can no longer control myself. I grab her wrist and growl, showing my cat-like fangs.
But she doesn't mind it. Pink dust appears on her cheeks as the woman get's only more excited. She starts mumbling stuff I can't understand and continues grabbing my hair, tail, inspecting my ears.
At this point I can only silently stare at Levi, asking for help without words. He silently sighs and puts down his cup of tea. "Shitty-glasses, get away from her."
"Oh yeah! Sorry!" She immediately jumps back and I sigh in relief. "I'm Hanji Zoe!"
I look at her and slowly walk closer to Levi just in case Hanji comes close again. "..(y/n). My name is (y/n)."
It takes a second for Hanji to realise how many bruises I have on my face.
"She's with you?" Hanji looks over to Levi, who's sitting next to me.
"Yes, you idiot. (Y/n) is under my command." He sips tea again and places the cup on the table. Levi slowly stands up, making me get back a little to give him space. "She's not a cadet yet either. I haven't decided what she'll do. I have yet to check her skills."
I look over at Hanji, who's still jumping in her spot from excitement. Levi starts walking away and I decide to follow. Or more, I have to follow.
"Sir, may I ask a question?'' As we walk through a wide hallway I break the silence.
"Go ahead." he doesn't look satisfied with how I call him, but ignores it.
"If you don't know what to do with me, how can you be sure that I'll die?"
Levi stops in the middle of a step and looks back at me. I stop and look at him with the same lifeless stare. Levi gazes at me for a couple of minutes and decides to start walking again.
"Because you will. You're not getting a comfortable job, because I have no intention of searching for one just to please your needs, brat." The male walks over to a door and opens it. "For now you'll stay by my side. I'll be watching you, so don't do anything stupid."
I remember the way the other guy reacted when Levi told him what to do. I watched him sit in his desk and put one of my arms on the chest and one on the back, mimicking the other guys salute.
"Yes sir."
