Chapter 26: Reunion
It's been 4 years since my dad's wedding. My dad and Tegan have decided to stay where I grew up and where his best friend is. Tegan gave birth to two beautiful and healthy children, a boy and a girl. Jayden Ryder Winters and Winter Rose Silvers. Tegan got her name hyphenated because she really wanted to give her girl the name Winter since she was young, so my dad agreed without any resistance.
Connor is still there with his dad as well, he's taking over his dad's business and is pretty happy from what he's told me. We still talk, just not as much as you'd expect. He has a girlfriend now and from what he said, she's just like me but not a romantic which is good for him. He really likes her, maybe even loves her. I have yet to see her but from what he described her as, I'm sure she's beautiful. Her name is beautiful as well, Juliet.
Layla and Jacque moved back to Paris and are actually getting married this summer. Needless to say I'm excited. They already have a little girl together, little Rene St. Clair.
Logan and I left a few weeks after the wedding. We've been traveling as many places as we can and it's been amazing. We kissed under the Eiffel Tower, the famous lock bridge, we even added a lock ourselves. We kissed in the beautiful towns Verona, Greece, Dublin, London, and even Tokyo.
We've been together 4 and a half years, and we still share the same amazing love for each other that we did long ago. We still have yet to make love but we do show intimacy more than ever. Like normal, I'm okay with it. It's refreshing. Logan and I are currently on our way home, as well as Layla and Jacque, to go to my high school reunion. It's been only 6 years but it feels like a lifetime. I can't wait to see everyone.
"I have a question." Logan groans.
"You and your questions!" I laugh as I hit his chest lightly.
"Jeez. Are you trying to make a scene?"
"Yeah, this plane ride is boring." I laugh and shake my head.
"What's your question?"
"After the reunion, do you think we could stay there for a little while? I haven't seen the twins since they were born."
"Of course melon." He kisses me. "Anything for you." I smile and lay my head on his shoulder. "Take a nap. I'll wake you when we get close." I wrap my arms around his and sigh happily.
"I love you Logan." I lift my face and he kisses me again.
"I love you too Naomi." I smile and cuddle into his arm, drifting to sleep.
~~~
We landed and we're back at my old house. Standing outside just looking at it brings back so many memories. "Hey." I turn to Logan. "You okay love?" I smile and nod.
"Just a lot of memories."
"Good or bad?"
"Both." Logan smiles and wraps his free arm around me. We still have about 3 million other bags in the rental car but we've decided to leave them there for now. I walk up to the door and knock, Layla opens the door with a smile. She and Jacque didn't have as many bags so they got here way quicker than us.
"About time you two showed up!" I laugh and shake my head. I walk in and see my dad holding Winter, Tegan holding Kai and Jacque holding Rene. I see Connor and a pretty girl with black hair talking, must be his girlfriend, while Connor's dad and his wife are cuddled on the couch together. I hear laughter when I walk in. I turn to the stairs and see Dean, Payton, Joey and Carmen. I smile wide as I go to hug them all.
"My god! Naomi you're looking great!" I laugh at Dean's excitement.
"Shh!" Payton says slapping him, "The babies are sleeping." I laugh and walk back to Logan. It's great to see that they are still together after all these years. Logan and I sit on the floor by the window. Logan's back against the walk and my back against his chest, sitting between his legs. He always plays with my hands when we sit like this and it always makes me smile.
"How have you two been? Naomi you've gotten tan. You look beautiful."
"Not possible." I turn to Logan. "Beauty has nothing on you." Everyone gives a tiny 'aww' and I laugh.
"You're so cheesy."
"Maybe so." I was ready to speak again when I feel something cold slide against my finger. I pull my hand away and see a beautiful flower shaped diamond ring resting on my ring finger. "But I know you love the clichés." I turn to Logan with tears about to fall. "Should I continue or do you want a tissue?" I laugh and shake my head.
"Continue! I'm about to die and it would be rude of me to die right now." Everyone including Logan laughs.
"Well. Before we started dating we didn't know much about each other, but somehow I feel that made our bond grow stronger." Logan intertwines his hand with mine. "At your dad's wedding, is when I asked him for his blessing. Granted we haven't been dating long, he agreed as long as I waited another year. I did." I feel the tears fall now. "But the reason I waited longer, was for this moment. To be surrounded by everyone you love, not just me." I glance around the room quickly. "I do love you to the bottom of my heart Naomi, and I'm sorry for making you wait so long, but I wouldn't have been able to go through with this if these people, the people who made you the beautiful girl I fell in love with, weren't in the room with me." I swallow hard and let out a staggered breath. "From the moment at your dad's wedding that you said you were in love with me, and how I made you feel alive, I knew I wanted to be with you for as long as possible. Not only because I'm also hopelessly in love with you..." He grabs my chin and wipes my tears which makes me cries harder. "But because you brought me back to life. I was a goner before I met you." He wipes my tears again and this time a tear slips from his eyes. "You're my angel. My answered prayers for hope. Will you please be mine forever and marry me?" I laugh and wipe my face.
"Let me think about it." Everyone including Logan laughs. "Of course I'll marry you Logan." He leans in to kiss me but I pull away. "On one condition."
"Anything."
"You gotta buy me a cheesecake and coffee from the bakery down the street." He laughs and I can't help but look at his nose. His biggest insecurity is the thing I love most about him.
"Deal." And with with simple word. He kisses me and everyone around us claps.
~~~
"You're so lucky Naomi!"
"He's so cute!"
"How did you find him? I want one!" Only a few of the things I've heard at the reunion about Logan and I. Marcus is here and he is fairly upset that I'm marrying his brother, but neither of us care because now we're both happier than ever.
"I love you Naomi." I feel his arms wrap around my waist and his head on my shoulder. I turn my head to look back at him and smile.
"I love you more." He smiles and kisses me.
"Don't argue with me about my love for you." I laugh and kiss him again.
Perfect is one way I can describe this day. Perfect ring. Perfect proposal. Perfect moment.
Perfect guy.
