A/N: all credits go to Crowded House for their song, "Don't Dream It's Over", which I use in this chapter. There will be original songs used later, and any ones that aren't, I will credit.
Also slight trigger warning for mentions of alcohol use?? Nothing too serious though.

Klavier Gavin opened his eyes, and for quite a few seconds he had no idea where he was.
He looked around, taking in the sight of everything around him. His guitar in the corner of the room. A painting on the wall that he didn't recognize. A bowl on the table by the bed he was currently in, filled with mints. His phone which was also on the table next to the bed.
He was in a hotel room. This realization led him to remembering everything. He had just gotten done playing a show, he must've passed out as soon as he had gotten in here. How long ago was the show? He had no idea. The only light in the room was the lamp in the corner, he would have to get up and turn it off, as it was hurting his head.
Waking up and not remembering wasn't an uncommon occurrence for the man by any means. He was used to it, as pathetic as it sounded.
"You really need to start doing better, Klavier. This is getting quite ridiculous."
Klavier let out a gasp of surprise when he heard his brother's voice, and also when he saw him walk out of the bathroom. How long had HE been here?
"Kristoph. What are you doing here?" Klavier asked, sitting up. As soon as he did so, he was met with a sharp pain in his head. Maybe he should just take things slow.
"What do you think? Making sure you're alright, that's what. I do this every single time, you know that." Kristoph scoffed, his arms across his chest. He did care about his brother, of course he did, otherwise he wouldn't be standing here at this very moment, but constantly caring for him like this could be quite tiring.
Kristoph felt as though his brother was at the point of no return right about now. He had been an alcoholic and an addict for years now, probably even more than Kristoph knew, and it was quite painful to see a member of your own family going through this sort of thing. He couldn't abandon him now.
The early days were much more manageable. Klavier was always fine the next day, and then possibly for a couple more days. Now, he couldn't go a day without drinking or taking these goddamn pills, he even did it before and after his shows now. His life quite literally revolved around these substances of inebriation.
Klavier was a pretty famous rockstar, who had been in the business for a very long time. Ever since he was young, he had a knack for singing, playing, and writing music. It was always a passion of his. So, it was no surprise that he had gotten famous off of doing so. It was odd, since nobody in the family was musically inclined. Klavier was a special case, it seemed.
Even though he had made a name for himself rather quickly, his career was starting to fall, just as quickly. He still had fans of course, but he wasn't as in the spotlight as he once was. It was sad, because it wasn't as though he was old, or had done anything extremely wrong. The industry was simply ruthless, painting him in a bad light because of small things that had happened(his team finding him passed out drunk backstage, pills discovered in his hotel room), and people latched onto what the media said as if it were gospel.
Of course, these things weren't good at all. But these stories shouldn't have been made public, because not only did they leave a smear on Klavier's name, they also got stretched out of proportion, with added details that NEVER occurred. But that was just the media.
It aggravated Kristoph, because Klavier just didn't see to care at this point. And also, because none of this should have happened in the first place.
