A/N: slight trigger warnings for more mentions of alcohol and drug abuse, nothing explicit or major though.

"Apollo, you're kidding! Klavier Gavin gave you his number? I knew there was something going on with how deep you two were in conversation, but I didn't know it was going to go THERE. Oh my god!" Athena exclaimed excitedly, jumping up and down and clapping her hands.

Apollo felt his face turn a deep red. He was just as surprised and delighted as her, if he was being completely honest. "I didn't think that either. Actually, I didn't even think he would speak to me as much as he did."

"Are you kidding? He was practically begging me to introduce the two of you!"

"Now you're making things up."

"Okay, maybe he didn't say it explicitly. But he was implying it. He kept complimenting and talking about how good you were, and I told him how nice of a person you were too, and he said that he bet you were. I said that you would probably be back in a few minutes if he wanted to meet you and talk to you, and he smirked. Smirked!"

"I just... I can't believe it. And I had no problem talking to him either, which was the most strange thing. At first I was nervous, but then, as we spoke more and more, it just... felt different. If that even makes sense."

"Of course it makes sense, it means you like talking to him." Athena said, winking. "It means that you enjoy his company."

"I mean, I know he's Klavier Gavin and all... but in that moment, I realized that he was so much more. He wasn't just that."

"Aw, our little Polly is in love!"

Apollo rolled his eyes. "I wouldn't call it that. But I will say, I do enjoy his company. He really is amazing. And he wants to get drinks with me. Drinks. With me."

"He definitely has taken a liking to you. I don't know why you would deny it."

"I'm not denying it. It's just- why would it be me?" It was common knowledge that Klavier swing both ways when it came to dating preferences, he had been seen with both and even confirmed it in several interviews. That of course wasn't the surprising part. Apollo was really wondering why Klavier would be interested in someone as bland and as boring as him.

"I don't think you understand how cool you are, Apollo. And I'm not just saying this because we're friends. I knew from the start that I liked you, and that we were going to get along well. I knew you were a good person. I could just tell."

"Are you sure that's not just the psychology student in you?" Apollo joked, chuckling. Athena was a college student, she did bartending to make money for herself, being in college wasn't cheap, not by any means.

"Maybe it is. Either way, I wasn't exactly wrong. And I'm never wrong, am I?" She giggled.

"You're getting a bit ahead of yourself."

Clay stepped behind the bar with them, and patted Apollo on the back, scaring him in the process.

"Clay! You know not to do that!" Apollo exclaimed, and Athena began to laugh.

"It wasn't as bad as you thought, right?" Clay asked his best friend with a smile.

"What?" Apollo asked, cocking a brow.

"You singing, obviously. It wasn't as bad as you thought, right?"

"Oh." Apollo felt himself blush again, feeling like a total idiot. "I guess so. It was still pretty terrifying, though."
