Also, light trigger warning for mentions of drug abuse and some harmful thoughts.

Apollo had no idea why, but his mother was being awfully quiet. When he had first come home after spending the night with Klavier, all she did was ask him if he had fun, and told him that she had seen the video of him singing.

"It seemed so natural. You seemed so happy." She had told him. She was the first person to have said that.

"Really? I did?"

"Yes, you did. You always look different when you're singing. You're always in your own place. It's a good look."

"Thanks, mom."

He was surprised that she hadn't scolded him for staying the night with someone he didn't know. He was surprised that she didn't give him that "You don't know if he could kill you" lecture. It didn't matter that he was older now, she still looked after him and made it known when he did something stupid.

This was the first time in as long as he could remember that he didn't have to hear it from her, which was so unlike her. His behavior surely set off her mother bear instincts, was she hiding them?

And then, when he had stayed out a bit later to go out with Athena after work, she didn't bat an eye. Just said hello to him, and that she hoped he had a good night.

It was beyond bizarre, but he couldn't say he hated it. He just wanted to know why she was easing up all of a sudden.

Apollo was pouring a drink for a customer when he saw him sit down at the bar. It took a few moments to register, and once it did, he slid the drink to the customer as fast as he could and rushed over to him.

"Klavier?"

"Oh! Apollo! Didn't expect to see you here, how pleasant!" He said, sarcasm dripping from his voice.

Apollo couldn't help but roll his eyes at that one. "Wow, you really came to the place I work and thought you would see me? What a fool."

"Wow, has your day been THAT bad? This is a side of you that I haven't really seen that much."

"Hey, my day is better now that you're here." Instantly he regretted the words. How corny.

"I'm glad. I came here to drink obviously, but I also came her to ask you a question."

Apollo smiled. "What is it? And what do you want to drink?"

"The usual. And I want to know when you have some free time. Preferably a day off."

Apollo thought for a moment as he poured Klavier's drink and handed it to him. "I have a day off on Friday. I don't usually have them off because it's one of the more busy days of the week, but I managed to get this one. Unless I get called in of course, but I doubt it."

"Good. I have a show that day, what do you say you come there with me and then we can head over to mine for a bit?"

"Sounds good. Where are you playing?"

"About an hour away from here. Small venue, good sound. Part of some festival. Just a few songs."

"Let me guess, you want me to sing with you." Apollo smirked.

"See... that's where we run into problems. I asked them if it would be alright, and they were iffy about it. I'm going to try again."

"They don't want you to bring somebody else on stage?"
