Josh's POV:
Social studies ugh. I truly hate it with a passion. You have to do projects on stupid things with stupid people. I walk in and immediately take the seat I always do in the corner at the back where hopefully no one will bother me. Everyone else comes filling in only seconds later coming from relatively the same place as me minus a few. The teacher wasn't the best. Let's say that. She was always late and never disciplined people - ever. Usually this would make her peoples favourite and she was just not mine at all. It's not like I enjoy having strict teachers or anything I just prefer teachers who at least try to make people leave me alone.
"Ok everyone, so your new assignment is debates" I groan internally this isn't gonna end well
"I'm going to split you into pairs and then into groups of two pairs. You will be given a topic and over a month to prepare your arguments for your side in your pairs. I would give you less time but then I would have to give you more work and who wants to do that" She continued to talk and started to assign pairs but if I was honest I didn't give a shit. No one in this class liked me so I didn't care who I got"
"Joshua Bradley and Simon Minter" Seconds later the chair next to mine was being pulled out and he sat down. I was surprised he knew who I was
"Hi" he said excitedly. Why was he excited to work with me?
"Josh and Simon with Jared and Alex" Fuck. Why of all people them? Oh well at least I'm against them not with them.
The teacher then proceeded to walk round to every group and give them their debate topic. I heard somethings like women rights and veganism. Then she got to our group.
"You boys will be debating gay rights" My heart almost shattered. This was gonna be so shitty. Jared and Alex looked at each other and then grinned at me.
"Miss really?" Simon said from next to me "You're having us debate whether someones existence is valid?"
"If you don't like it why don't you and Josh debate for and Jared and Alex against" She said and then walked away
"This is bullshit" Simon said when she left
"What's wrong Simon? Sad you got stuck with the f*g?" Jared asked smirking
"No actually if anything I'm happy I got paired with Josh. Listen I already know you aren't gonna hold back in this so you should know that neither am I. Be prepared" Simon said and then walked out as the bell went.
Maybe this wasn't gonna be as bad as I thought.
