You've never felt so happy before. Here he was, the smiling twin with soft eyes, respecting your gender neutral pronouns. You're going to cry. You're actually going to fucking cry if you aren't careful. Nope. Not even if you're the most cautious person in the world you doubted that you would prevent yourself from crying on the spot. You saw Hikaru relaxing his shoulders, his eyes softening a little bit. He wasn't completely soft like Kaoru's, but a different light shone in them now. You wiped your eyes with the back of your hand. Yeah, today was going to be a great day. 11/10 You're going to come back. Five stars.

"Is it that big of a deal if we say they/them stuff instead of she/her? You're on the verge of tears."

You smiled and nodded. That's right, people just don't understand when they're intolerant. These boys weren't intolerant. They just didn't understand. You had to think of a good analogy to make it clear to Hikaru how big of a deal this is. How much time did you have with them still? Whatever. You didn't give any fucks. As long as you still got time you still got time. Now, what would be something Applicable to them? Maybe just go with the gender Thing? No, that won't be that big of a deal to them most likely. Maybe people assuming they're commoners and calling them commoners? No. Maybe just explain it how it feels? Yeah. That sounds about right.

"How would you Fell about people calling you freaks for being who you are and directly contradicting it to your face? Constantly mocked and ridiculed for just wanting to be who you are?"

You saw the twins both look down. Hikaru's shoulder moved in a way that was signifying his arm moving closer to Hikaru's. They were holding hands underneath the table. Oh god. Did you hit a little bit close to home?! Oh man, now you feel terrible! Initiate the most awkward rambling of words in the history of awkward ramblings.

"Oh god, I'm sorry. I didn't realize... Honestly you guys are so cool and awesome I wouldn't have thought... I'm making it worse aren't I? Ha ha... We need a subject changer."

Both twins looked back up at you. Hikaru just had that annoyed glare staring at you. Turns out both twins could pull that off. Kaoru seemed more sympathetic than anything. Basednon the way they were acting, at least with you right now, they threw their whole symmetric thing out the window. You did tell them at the very beginning of this little interaction that they could relax around you. You're a chill person. A chill and awkward non-binary pal. To your surprise, it was Hikaru and not Kaoru who changed the subject. His expression showed annoyance, but his eyes shone with curiosity and mischief with some tolerance sewn in between.

"So, why did you decide to visit us in the host club anyways? From what we've heard around you've never even considered the host club. And why us?"

Oooooooh shit. Should you be honest here? You haven't lied to the twins at all yet. But that would sound really bad if you said the entire truth. You felt your face gain a honey glow similar to Fix-it-Felix's from the hit movie Wreck it Ralph. You cleared your throats to try and buy yourself some time. Was it suddenly hot in here or what. Hikaru rose an eyebrow and Kaoru waited patiently and kindly. You averted your eyes, not making eye contact. Looks like you're telling the truth.

"Well, to be honest I just overheard a bunch of people in class. I heard your names and they went on and on praising you two. They said the word 'gay' and I just came here instead of going home. It's not like I want to go home anyways."

There was silence from the three of you, then Hikaru started laughing. Well, snickering became laughing. Kaoru tried to hold in his laughter, but he couldn't handle it. Wow, this was embarrassing. The twin brothers were laughing and managing to hold a conversation during their laughing spat. You didn't pay attention to what they were saying. You just tried to get your blush to die down. Damnit cheeks stop being red! You snapped your eyes onto them when Hikaru grabbed Kaoru by the chin. It looks like this is one of their famous Yaoi skits. Your heart started to race. Holy shit.

"Hey, Kaoru. I don't want you looking at them. Look at me."

Kaoru laughed softly under his breath, flashing you a glance to reassure you that everything was okay. If you didn't know any better you would think he was uncomfortable. What was that flash in his eye? Guilt? Regret? You were leaning more towards the first one. Did he feel guilty about this? You were starting to get really invested in the softer twin. That's good because this book is supposed to be a Kaoru x Reader not a Kaoru x Reader x Hikaru. Goodbye forever fourth wall. Kaoru then focused his attention on Hikaru, his hands entwining with his. Their faces were really close. It was hella obvious that Kaoru was supposed to be Uke. Uke is the submissive one for those of you who aren't hardcore yaoi shippers. Or just those who are ignorant to the terminology of yaoi.

"I'm looking at you and only you Hika, I promise."

Awww, that's a cute nickname. If it was you you'd probably give him something e,barassing that has nothing to do with his name. His name ends with Ru so you would probably call him RuRi. You did that to your friends before they left you for garbage after coming out as non-binary to them. Some friends they were. You shouldn't think about that right now. You were trying your hardest not to laugh. This was priceless. This was AWESOME!!! It got even more awesome when Hikaru pecked Kaoru on the nose.

"Good, lets keep it that way. You're my brother."

This was absolutely amazing. Hikaru noticed you were smiling to yourself like an idiot and tried not to laugh. You clearly had a lot of emotions. The twins stopped with the wire little charade and sat back in their seats. Hikaru had a cocky, confident look swept over his face. His lips had a smirk that looked as though nothing could wipe it off. Kaoru tried to mimick the expression, but his lips just wouldn't smirk. His eyes reflected guilt. Tremendous guilt. That's when a little timer went off. 

"Wow, looks like"

"Your time Is up."

So they're going back to mirroring eachother and being the little devils? Fair enoigh. Your time is over. You sighed and stood up, the fucking skirt you hated with every fiber of your being flowing over your legs. You pushed your chair back in and the twins escorted you to the door. You were tempted to pull Kaoru to the side and ask him what was wrong. Clearly something was wrong. But you didn't. You just walked away and thanked them for everything. The two waved you off and got ready for Guest(s) number three. You looked at the time. Your family didn't care if you were home or not for another thirty minutes. You were half tempted to buy another fifteen minutes of their time, but you looked back and their line was filled with fangirls. You shrugged and started walking home. At least if you get home you can wear a different outfit, even if your parents still make you wear skirts.Tomorrow is Saturday, so that starts the weekend. You're going to sneak off of the house and buy some more pants. You only have one pair. 

That's a plan. You're sneaking out tomorrow.
