"I'm so sorry. You don't deserve that. You deserve so much better than a Mother like that. I wish you were blessed with a mother who understood you for who you are. Who cares what you wear or what you identify as? You're still a person who deserves to be respected and validated."

You nodded, face buried against his chest. Kaoru used his dominant hand (left) to run through your hair while his right hand held you close to him. Your chest and back heaved uo and down with uneven sobs. That was terrifying. That was cruel. You stood up to her, and it was as if she didn't even love you anymore. That's kind of true, though. She's not in love with you, she loves the idea of you she had in her head. The perfect frilly princess of a daughter romanticizing Boys and wanting the world to be hers. That's not you. It broke your heart to know it, but it's the truth. You just held on to Kaoru, the only person who you knew that likes you for who you are. You needed him right now. You needed something to cheer you up and take your mind off of everything, but what?

"Listen, let me take you home. Mom's a fashion designer so you can have all the gender neutral clothes you want. You can live with us for as long as you want and need. I won't let anyone hurt you any more, I promise."

Kaoru did something you didn't expect. He kissed you gently on the forehead. You stifled a breath and brought your head up. Your neck ached from craning it in an awkward way and your head felt heavy for some reason. You looked up into his concerned amber eyes with your own puffy damp ones from crying so hard. He would do that for you? He cared for you that much? Did he develop feelings for you like you have for him during the duration of this date? Kaoru has nothing but concern and fondness shining in his eyes. Well, maybe a little bit of awkwardness from you staring at him so intently. You focused your eyes from his to his lips. He was messing with them, as if fidgeting and not knowing what to do with them. Was this the right moment? Was this the right mood? Would he want it or is this all just platonic? You needed to feel loved, and Kaoru was the person who "loved" you the most now, wether platonic or romantic. You felt your heart accelerate and your throat squeeze up as you leaned forward to try and kiss him. You really needed that validation right now.

You kissed Kaoru, mind clouding logic. This probably wasn't the best choice to do right now, but you needed it. You needed to feel like you were loved. Kaoru was obviously confused. Kaoru was obviously caught off guard. You waited for his reaction. The guilt and situation dawned on you. You were about not tonpull back and apologize when Kaoru reaches for them back of your head and kept you close to him. Kaoru kissed back. His lips were warm, soft, and comforting. Despite the stereotypes, your heart stsrted to slow down a bit. Why? Comfort. You were comfortable with this. You wanted this. In place of nervousness, a light hearted wholesome feeling overcame your body. You felt whole. You felt loved. You felt right. You felt like you were exactly who you were and that nobody could strip that from you anymore. In a way, it felt like you we're liberwted from the shackles of expectations. It was bliss. It was something you needed. You just let yourself enjoy this experience.

Meanwhile in Kaoru's mind he was internally screaming. This whole fanfiction has been a big electorate date between you and him. You found him watching Hikaru, longing for someone to live him like Haruhi loves him, then you found him. You took him away and you proposed the idea of a date to help his self esteem. He had so much fun with oh, going to places and having your moments. He fell in love with you as a person. Not as a boy or girl like everyone expects you too back in the Rich world of Ouran. Yet here you are, kissing him on the lips after something boarderline traumatic. Was this real? He's just imagining this, right? His heart was beating faster than ever before and his face felt like it was going to burn into the core of the earth at this rate. This is all so foreign to him, but he is willing to learn. He needs to learn with experience. You are going to become his experience.

Kaoru let the back of your head go and you both pull away, gasping for air. Kaoru gazes into your eyes, looking for something. He isn't skilled enough to indenting what it is yet, but you're pupils are larger than normal and you have a shine in your eye. He watched you smile. There's the pretty smile. Or is it handsome smile? He can ask you which adjective you prefer later on. Kaoru couldn't think of anything to say. He waited for you to say something, but nothing came out. You both just planted heavily for a few more seconds. Words don't need to be said to tell that both of you two enjoyed that. Kaoru felt your hand slide in his, slim and warm. Then you flashed him a smile, finally thinking of something to say.

"We should go home."

His heart skipped a beat. A whole new life with you? He gets to see you every day now? You agreed? He's never been happier.
