"So you were alone in a bedroom with this incredibly hot guy," I started, not believing what I was hearing, "And nothing happened?"

"It was a weird night, Meg," Kuzco sighed before taking a spoonful of McFlurry, "I thought things were going to go one way, but it all got flipped around on its head."

"Okay, walk me through exactly what happened again."

Kuzco took a deep, dramatic breath before retracing his steps from last night's party. "We were talking and chatting for a bit after you left, and then Naveen came over and challenged Li Shang to beer pong, and Li Shang wanted me to stick around so I could watch. He lost, and he got pretty gone from all that beer that quick. And then he suddenly wanted to dance? And he like, dragged me with him? It was very strange. But like, he's so fucking hot, and he goes from just dancing to dancing with me, and UGH okay, Meg, I gotta talk about what this man feels like. He gets goofy-drunk, right? So he's acting all goofy on me, dancing real close and it's like he's grinding his chest on me and he is... so fit. The lord was testing me then. Okay so anyway, he started like, getting dizzy, and losing his balance, so I became a mama bird and took him to one of the bedrooms and sat him down on the bed so he could relax. I sat down with him, and he was getting really touchy-feely, but I know how drunk he is, so I got up and was like 'let me get you some water', so I did that, and when I came back, he tried to kiss me to thank me for getting the god damn water—"

"So he's into you?" I asked

"Drunk Li Shang being into me is different than Li Shang being into me," Kuzco continued, "Anyway of course I don't kiss him because he's drunk and I'm sober and I don't want to be that gay who kisses straight boys when they're drunk because that's horrible, so I tell him he should rest... and he had me lay with him. Like I was on my back on I guess Naveen's bed, and I have a gorgeous but drunk man cuddling up against me, falling asleep."

I could see the conflict in his face. "Shit," was all I could say.

"It was... bittersweet. I was with him like that for what felt like hours; I mean, it was until the end of the party, because Naveen kicked us out after a while. I had to take Li Shang back to his own dorm—"

I cut him off, "Wait, aren't Naveen and Li Shang both on the football team? Do you think he'd—"

And Kuzco cut me off, "I mean, Naveen didn't really seem to care; he just wanted us to go home."

I looked up from my fries, and saw some familiar faces walking in from the parking lot. The entire girls' soccer team was coming in, supposedly for a post-game celebration. Aurora and Jasmine had linked arms, walking in looking somehow like they didn't even step on the field. I glared as I watched them giggling and pointing at the menu. I looked over the rest of the team, looking for any new girls who could be gay, but Kuzco waved his hand in front of my face to get my attention. "What?" I asked him.

He pointed back outside. Merida was on the phone having a very animated conversation with whoever was on the other line, and Mulan was leaning against the window. "What do you think's going on?" Kuzco asked me, whispering

"I'm not sure," I said, my focus still on Merida's pacing and tense arms

I don't know Merida well enough to know her personal problems or anything like that. We have a class together, and we hooked up once; that's not a lot to go off of. I watched as she grew more and more frustrated, and eventually hung up the phone. I could finally see her face: she was crying. Mulan immediately embraced her and Merida collapsed into Mulan's arms. I put my palm to the side of my face to block my view. I told Kuzco I couldn't look anymore. "Yeah, it looks really emotional," Kuzco added.
