I refreshed my email for the umpteenth time as I walked out of History class. Nothing. I locked my phone again, but immediately felt a vibration: a notification! I opened it back up hoping it was an email—the cast list—but no. It was a text. I was disappointed, but then I saw it was from Merida.
Oh bless. I need some action, and Merida's cool. She should be able to help me take my mind off this: especially if Aurora ends up being cast as Titania, like I've been having dreams about.
Last night, I dreamt I was just in the fairy ensemble, and I was forced to watch every night as Aurora delivered Titania's lines incorrectly. I can't get the costume design out of my head, either. It was this beautiful silver, medieval inspired dress, with a crown of flowers and crystals, and sparkling wings, and the stage lights hit Aurora in just the right way... I know she doesn't want this role as much as I want this role, so it's ludicrous that I see her—
Buzz buzz
My phone! I quickly pull it out of the pocket of my jeans—and it's a text. This time, it's from Violet. Wait, it says "Check your email!"?
I go to refresh my email once again, and I immediately cling to the back of the lockers, my free hand covering my mouth. There's a new email in my inbox: "Midsummer Cast Announcement". I stop breathing, simultaneously expecting the worst and best news. I open the email, ready to finally know if my hard work has paid off.
