Looking at the clock on the stove, its 11:48pm. I look over at Mark, his eyes are bloodshot. "Why don't you go to bed?" I ask quietly.

He shakes his head, "Are you going to go to bed?"

I look down, "Not after that nightmare."

He reaches across placing his hand on my knee, "Then I'm not going to bed."

Looking over he's having a hard time staying awake, "Thank you for telling me about your life." I put my hand on top of his, "And about your dad, I know it's a hard thing sometimes to talk about." He nodded and smiled, "I'll be fine out here on my own," I whisper. "You can take a nap if you want to."

He shakes his head, "I'm fine."

I stand up and walk to my room, I hear him stomping behind me. "I'm just going to grab my laptop, you don't have to follow me."

He leans against the doorframe, "That nightmare must have really rattled you. You're wide awake."

I nod my head, "It was strange."

"You mumbled about it when you came to, but it was just panicked mumbles, I didn't really understand what you were talking about." He says, "Do you remember much about it?"

Grabbing the laptop from my backpack I hug it in my arms and turn around, "Not really." I hate lying to him but I don't really want to talk about it right now. It's still replaying in my mind and I don't think I could retell it properly if I wanted to. "Maybe it will come back to me." We both start walking back to the living room, I plug my computer and pull up Netflix again. As I'm scrolling through things to watch Mark leans back on the couch and I watch out of the corner of my eye his eyes close. I click on an old movie and the music causes his eyes to open. "I didn't mean to wake you."

He exhaled, "I was just..." He tries to think of something to say, "You know what yeah I was falling asleep."

I move from my spot and sit next to him, "You can fall asleep if you want to. Go to bed if you want."

He stands up and walks toward his room, "Hang on." He walks back with some of the bedding from his bed and pillow in the other hand. "Here," he says dropping the pillows down on each side of us and as he comes back and sits down he drapes the blanket over both of us. From there he grabs me and pulls me in close to him. "This is much better."

I smile, "Just like old times." I take a second to look at the screen, I'm already lost in this movie which means that I'm never going to understand what's happening. "Except," I say before getting up just a bit and straddling him, "There was more of this." His hands rest on my thighs and I could tell he's waken up a bit more. I lean forward and for the first time since hiding in the office, I gently press my lips against his.

As we part, I could tell something was off. I hop off of him and quickly move to the old place I was sitting on the couch, "I'm sorry," he whispers.

"It's not you, I made the move too quickly."

He sighs, "I promise that once we get home and once everything is settled, everything will be back to normal."

I chuckle, "Nothing's normal."

He breathily laughs, "Well, the way it used to be."

I look over, "I hope so."

"Hey," Mark whispers very closely to me. "Your alarm has been going off, we need to get ready."

I look to see a blanket across me and a little nest where obviously Mark had slept. "Did we...?"
