Chapter 7

JAY'S POV :

Mal Just arrived back at the hangout and told us that she and Uma were arm wrestling and made a deal, but Uma only told Mal that Melody was free to go if Mal won then. Mal wouldn't listen to what Uma would get if she won, which gave Uma the element of surprise, and she won by catching Mal off guard! Now Evie is freaking out, and we all should be.

"There's no way we're going to give Uma the wand. We can't just let her destroy Auradon."

"Uma doesn't get the wand; then Melody is toast, guys," Carlos says

"Right, so, we're gonna give Uma, of all people, the wand," Evie argues
"Do we have another choice?" Carlos says, and I try to calm the two of them down, but Mal has her thinking face on and cuts us all off.

"Wait! You guys! Your 3D printer."

"A phoney wand? Yes! In my sleep." Carlos says, amazed at Mal's idea

"And the second Uma tests it; she'll know it's fake," Evie says, being the voice of reason

"Well, okay, so we get Mel out fast. We need some diversion." Mal says, and I start thinking, knowing that we need something good to be able to get away, especially if we're going to be outnumbered. Then it comes to me.

"Smoke bombs!!!" I shout out the idea

"That's perfect. I'll get the chemicals I need from Lady Tremaine's place." Evie says as we look at each other. "That could work," she says, walking over towards Mal.

"Did you see Mel by any chance?" Evie asked, putting a hand on Mal's shoulder. She looks down and shakes no. I look down at my hands. I can't believe I let this happen. Her parents trusted me to protect her, and I let them down.

"We need to split up and get started. We're running out of time," standing up and dragging Carlos to the door. Carlos trips over his feet, and I try not to laugh during this challenging time, but you know it didn't work. He glares at me, and we leave.

Melody's POV:

This is exhausting. I wouldn't say I like this. Should have never left the Castle. You know what? I'm just waiting for them to kill me or for the VK's to rescue me. I want to have fun. This isn't very pleasant. Smirking to myself, I sing loudly a song that no one will like. Sing along if you know the words. I am in the mood to annoy people

I was pausing to see if anyone was at the door screaming for me to shut up like they did when I was younger. I don't hear anything, so I continue. Louder than before and getting up and spinning around the room.

Full time to floatin'
Under the sea."

I stop seeing a bottle of fun on Uma's dresser. I smirk, grab the bottle, chug the dark liquor, and sing even louder than before. There's no way they won't hear me this time.

"Down here, all the fish is happy
As off through the waves, they roll
The fish on the land ain't happy
They sad 'cause they in their bowl
But fish in the bowl is lucky
They in for a worser fate
One day when the boss get hungry

I start to feel loopy but continue to slur my words loudly and begin to sing.
