Breakfast had been wonderful that morning but the lack of sleep I had gotten the night before added with the spontaneous Quidditch game created an extremely well working recipe for feeling sleepy shortly after the breakfast buzz had died down.
"Mum," I said as I walked into the kitchen where my mum was speaking with gran, Aunt Hermione, and Aunt Angelina.
My mother spun around to look at me, she seemed to be absolutely radiant about something, "yes dear?" she asked expectantly.I looked from her to my gran and then to my two aunts who were all staring at me with large grins. I finally focused on my mum again, "is it okay if Scor and I head home a little early this morning? I'm feeling pretty tired and would like to be able to sleep before I have to get ready to go the Ministry ball tonight," I said.
My mother's grin grew larger, "of course, just make sure you acknowledge us at some point during the ball, ok?" she said.
Did that mean I wouldn't have to come to the ball with my family? Could I just apparate with Scorpius to the Ministry? "Wait, mum, don't I have to meet you guys here before?" I asked.
My mother shook her head, "no, I trust you two can get yourself to the ministry just fine."
Feeling confused I said "oh, okay... well, I'll see you later than mum."
My mother smiled, "alright dear," she said before turning back to my aunts and gran to carry out their conversation.
As I walked away from the four women I could faintly hear my mum say something along the lines of, 'I don't think it's happened yet, he's only just asked Harry'.
As I approached Scorpius who was sitting on the couch between James and Fred, I heard what sounded like a heated argument, but didn't look like one.
"Your joking right? No way are they going to make it to the world cup, have you seen them play this year?" Fred said.
James rolled his eyes, "Bolivia still has a chance," he said.
Scorpius looked up at my ad the two boys continued to argue around him. He smiled, "hi, love," he said as he picked up my left hand and held it with his.
I smiled, "I asked mum if we could go home a little early because I would really like to take a nap and she said we could... if you want to of course," I said.
Scorpius nodded, "we didn't really get much sleep last night, I might join you in that nap," he said as he stood up, jars and Fred oblivious to him, "yeah we can go," he said as he slung his arm around my shoulders and flooed home with me.
**********
Scorpius and I got back hours before we would have to get ready for the ministry ball.
As we stepped out of the fireplace, I slowly walked over to the bedroom and threw myself face first onto the bed. I heard Scorpius laugh behind me and felt his weight sit down beside me on the bed.
"You okay?" he asked with a hint of amusement in his voice.
I groaned, "tired," I said into the pillow.
Scorpius placed his hand on my back and rubbed small circles with his thumb into my back, "then take a nap," he said.
I turned my head to the side to look at him, "but I want to kiss you," I said.
Scorpius laughed again, "Love, you will have forever to kiss me," he said.
I groaned again, only slight noting that he said we would have forever to kiss, "yeah, but I want to kiss you now," I said.
"Well, you've got quite a dilemma then, don't you," he said with a small smirk as he leaned back to lay beside me.
I rolled my eyes, "don't make fun of me," I said, finally pushing myself up off the bed, into a seated position.
