Mack's POV

It is the first day back after spring break. Track is starting up next week. Even with my disease, I'm still going to do it. I went down to the office and signed my name on the signup sheet. I then walked to my class. I sat down next to my best friend Taylor. She is a red-headed freckled goddess. She is the only one who knows about my secret I haven't really told anyone about my disease but her and my family. We stopped talking when the teacher walked in. He had paired us up with partners. My partner was Colby Brock. He was the quiet goth kid in the class. I had been paired with him one other time last semester. I walked over to him and the desk next to him
"Hey," I said I sat down

"Hey," he said,

"Did you pick our topic?" I asked

"No I was going to let you pick," he said

"No I picked last time, it's your turn to pick," I told him

"Okay. We can pick... how about the recycling topic?" He asked

"Sure,"

We talked about our project and who is going to do what. I was going to write the three-page essay and he was going to make the slideshow. We then talked for the rest of the hours about random stuff. His eyes were so blue and pretty. I bet anyone could get lost on them. And I was staring again great. I then randomly said
"Do you wanna come over after school to work on the project?" I asked "Sure,"

"Okay. Does four work?" I asked

"yeah four works," he said

The bell then rang and I went to my next class. The day slowly went on. It was eventually time to go home. I quickly ran home, stopping many times to catch my breath. I entered the front door and went to my room. Thank goodness I cleaned it yesterday. I walked down the stairs and started to get dizzy again. I walked to the kitchen and took a pill. I hated those things. I sat down on the sofa and waited for the room to stop spinning. I eventually heard a knock on the door. I got up and realized it was Colby. I opened it and let him in. We sat down on the couch and started talking. I looked over at the coffee table and saw my medical alert braclet on the table. I quickly swiped it and hid it in my back pocket.

"What was that?" Colby asked me
