Colby's pov

Mack picked up her pace so fast that she was sprinting. Wow she was fast. I picked up my speed to try and catch up to her but I failed. Mack had also it finished her lap when she collapsed. Panic rushed over me as I ran up to her. I kneeled down next to her. I shook her but she was unresponsive.

"Mack," I shook her "Mack get up,"

She still wasn't responding.

I grabbed Mack's phone and called Taylor knowing she'd know the most about what to do.

"Hello?" A mans voice called

"Uh hi is Taylor there?" I asked

"Colby?" Taylor's voice was heard from a distance

"Yes, however your phone call had disturbed my class-"

I cut him off

"Taylor, Mack just passed out and I don't know what to do." I said my voice shaking

A chair calling over was heard and someone started yelling. The phone was taken off speaker

"Tell me where you are and what happened," she said

It sounded like she was running

"We're at the old football field. On the cement track."

"So what happened?" She asked

I looked down at Mack. She was bleeding and I hadn't realized that before

"We were running our mile when she just fainted,"

"She dehydrated herself," Taylor said quickly "okay call an ambulance. Is any one around?"

"No, the teacher stayed with the rest of the kids. Mack and I were faster runners,"

"Curse her," Taylor muttered

"Okay I'm going to go call an ambulance

"Okay," she replied before I hung up and called 911.

A few minutes go by...

"Colby!"

I turn around and there was Taylor. She ran up to us and noticed she was bleeding. Taylor turned Mack's head and saw that it was split open. Taylor held Mack's head as I brought the paramedics down to her. Luckily we were both able to go with her. What didn't occurs to me was that when we got back to school we were so getting detention.
