Mack's pov

The bell rang which meant that we had to leave for an assembly. We all walked down to the gym. I climbed up to the top where my class had to sit. I sighed fidgeting with my... Colby's hoodie sleeve. I look over to my right a bit trying to find him. I scanned the crowd and eventually found him. Of course he was talking away. He was such a social butterfly. I watched him laugh and talk. He looked up and locked eyes with me and stopped talking. His friends were still laughing but he just smiled while looking at me. I waved and he didn't hesitate to wave back. I looked over at the makeshift stage that was set up. A lady in a fancy business suit. Her hair was tied back in a clean bun and she had bright red lipstick. She was so cliche. She tapped the mic causing everyone to quiet down.

"Alright everyone. Today we're going to be talking about colleges," she said

My eyes widened. This was a topic I was very uneasy about. She started talking about SAT's and ACT's and about more things like that. I was zoning out by mistake too. I didn't want to talk about college. My parents have been pressuring me about it for years. Soon enough the assembly was over and so was school. I walked down the stairs and stood on the wall a bit farther back waiting for Colby. He eventually got over to me.

"Hey," I smiled

"Hey," he replied kissing my forehead softly "what's wrong?"

"What do you mean?" I asked As we started to walk to my locker

"You were totally zoning out during the assembly," he answered

"I just didn't wanna talk much about college right now," I shrugged

"Mackie, we graduate in four months,"

"I know but still,"

"Well if you want help I'll help you,"

"Thanks Colbs," I smiled

"Anytime Macks,"

"My parents are out so we can make a mess in the kitchen,"I laughed as he smiled

"This time we're making cookies,"

"What type?" I asked

"I dunno yet. We'll decide when I found out what you actually have in your house that you haven't eaten yet," he booped my nose and I playfully growled

"Alright fine," I laughed
