Chapter 6 New Years Special

A/N: This might be the last chapter, if not expect more to come. I'm sorry I haven't updated recently, I've been working a lot and school over top and so it drains a lot out of me, I am still on break till next Monday and I haven't had a lot of inspiration either. But I hope you enjoy the chapter and Happy New Year!

 All the kids started getting everything set up for New Years celebration they were planning, Raf and Bumblebee were setting up and the balloons and streamers, Jack and Arcee were setting up setting up the other decorations, and Bulkhead and Miko were playing music. Optimus was out for a drive while Ratchet 'tried' to get some work done while being in the same room of loud obnoxious music, Ava was sitting in the human area watching the medic work on a project she couldn't really understand, she turned toward the TV and put on the new, there was one hour left before New Years, Ava watched as the performers played on stage but couldn't hear them because of Miko and her guitar playing. Ava got up off the couch and decided to go help the others with their decorations.

Fifty minutes have gone by when Ava started heading back to the couch, to watch the last fifty minutes of the countdown, Ratchet stopped working and turned toward the human area "why do you kids always get excited over a countdown?" he asked, Ava turned around to face the medic and wrote on a piece of paper, once she was done, she held it up for him to read "the countdown represents the ending of the year, as in the new year will start at the stroke of midnight, and this only happens on December 31st, since that's New Years Eve. And the reason why we get excited is because, we're hoping for the new year to a bit different to this year" he explained, and Ratchet seemed to get it a bit more.

Everyone was at the television when people started to countdown after the ten second mark, Raf was sitting on the scout's shoulder plate and Jack was sitting beside me with Miko sitting on the arm of the couch, the kids counted down with the timer while Ava just laid back and got comfortable, and right when they were semi quiet about counting down, they all shout "Happy New Year!" Startling all the bot's including Ava. The kids ran down the stairs to party with their guardians while Ava turned off the TV and watched the medic leave the room, Ava ran down the steps and followed behind him.

Ratchet heard footsteps behind him and saw Ava hopping over the cracks on the floor "Ava, what are you doing down here?" he asked, Ava looked up at him and started writing something down in her notebook and held it up for him "it was too loud in there, so I decided to follow you" Ava stated, the medic thought about it and lowered his servo for her to climb on, she did and he rested her on his shoulder plate and continued his journey down the hall.

Ratchet walked into his berthroom and placed Ava on his berth "Its quieter in here" he stated, Ava just sat down and looked around, everything was ten times her size and the room was lit by small light bulbs on the ceiling, she wrote something down "what do you normally do in here?" Ava questioned as he stared at the page "normally, I would do my work in here since it's quieter as I stated before, where I have everything backed up onto a datapad" the medic answered, Ava thought for a minute then wrote something else down while Ratchet sat down beside her as she wrote, Ava held the book up for him to read "what is your New Year's resolution?" she asked with a smile on her face, Ratchet just raised an optic ridge in confusion.

Ava wrote down what a resolution was and showed it to him, once he was done he thought about it for a minute "well, mine would probably be trying to create a new voice box for Bumblebee, since that's been my project for eons now" he answered, then sighed, "it's late you should get some sleep" he requested, Ava shook her head, Ratchet didn't want to fight her on it so he just went to work. Ava watched him for a while till, she felt a sudden pain in her chest, she clenched her shirt and fell over gasping for air; Ratchet looked over and saw her trying to breathe "where's you inhaler, Ava?!" she pointed towards the door, he immediately picked her up and ran for the main room.

Once got there everyone looked at him "where is Ava's inhaler?!" he raised his voice in ergence, Raf grabbed her bag and rummaged through it, he found it and handed it to the medic, Ratchet handed it to the girl who tried to use it but it was empty, she was shaking and puffing it rapidly in panic for air, but nothing was happening "I'm calling my mom" Jack said flipping his phone open (because he couldn't live with IPhones) and started dialing till Raf held his arm for his attention "Jack, she won't get here in time" he said, Jack ignored the 12 year old and finally June picked up, Ratchet placed Ava down on the couch so she rested comfortably, tears were streaming down her face as she panicked and waited for the worst, everyone surrounded her except Jack (who was on the fucking phone!), Ava breathed rapidly still clenching her chest, then she exhaled and her chest didn't rise again or fall, her eyes were left open. Everyone waited for something to happen, anything, but nothing did.

She laid still, not moving, Ratchet left the room while everyone else stayed, Jack was looking back after seeing last moments of Ava and hung up the phone. As the sun started rise and an orange sky over head, they had a memorial for the young teen. They had buried her beside their comrade and they said their goodbyes to her, the humans were the last to leave along with the Autobot medic in his holoform, eventually Miko and Jack left, but Ratchet and young Raf sat on the cliff side watching the sun rise as they new Ava would be sitting next to them, enjoying the orange turn to a blue sky over head.
