Making my way to work this morning, I recall that my induction packet never actually came. I mean I've been working at LaRoux for two weeks now, virtually winging it and Anna still hasn't found time to get it to me?

Fantastic.

This is not what I intended to do this morning but I have to get it done. I don't know what her problem with me is but we're sorting it out, today.

Stepping into the magnificent building never fails to overwhelm me, waving hi to Gerald, I started making my way to the lift when I see a perfectly manicured hand shoot out to close the doors right in front of me.

I look up and obviously it's none other than Anna. Can't say I'm surprised really. She shoots me the fakest shocked face ever with poorly concealed venom in her expression. I step back from the lift and keep my calm because hey, we can't both be childish and petty and besides, I'm practically an hour early today; I could take this opportunity to get a cup of tea or something.
As I stepped backwards to turn around, I bumped into a pillar, which is strange because I know that pillars don't move or reach out their hands to steady your waist before you fall. God. I've gone and done it again. I turn and yes, it's Nicolas. Honestly please Earth swallow me whole.

"Good morning, Miss Carter. Bright and early again I see" he smiled. No not smiled, dazzled.

"Yes Mr LaRoux, so sorry for quite literally running into you, again" I couldn't look him in the face because mine was literally on fire.

A deep chuckle caught my attention "That's quite alright, although you did seem like you were in a bit of a rush when you almost sent me flying across the lobby- "

Is he making a joke? With me? Sarcasm, oh a man after my own heart. This emboldened me way more than it should have. Stay tuned.

"Honestly? I was trying to run away, I can't take it here anymore" I said with a slight smile on my face.

With those words, his laughter ended abruptly and the smile dropped from his face. He gave me the coolest stare and said in the most chilling tone "If you hate working here so much, I suggest you hand in your notice and leave".

My eyes went wide with shock, my lips were parting of their own accord and I couldn't stop the words from jumbling up and tumbling out of my mouth all at once. "Mr LaRoux I'm so sorry, I only meant it as a joke, of course I love-" wait. Is this little shit smirking at me?

At this point, his smirk had turned into a full blown smile and he was beginning to laugh at me, "You can't beat me at my own game. Surrender Miss Carter" and there it was again, that dazzling smile.

I of course, was in a mood at this point. Can someone say sore loser? And no amount of dazzle can make up for it.

"Oh come on Alexandra, I was just joking, don't be a sore loser" he stuck out his tongue like a five year old. And this caused me to crack a smile because he looked every bit the 27 year old that he was and much less the millionaire CEO. Also, the way my name rolled off his tongue was doing strange things to my heart.

"Fine, I forgive you for playing me but I was going out for tea and now you're buying it for me because I'm clearly not in the right state of mind to be purchasing anything anymore.
You can't break my heart and my wallet" I smiled with a slight shrug.

"Yes Ma'am" he grinned with a mock salute, "anything for your forgiveness. Wouldn't want you to spike my coffee now would we" he threw a wink over his shoulder at me. "We going to the cafe round the corner?" And all I could do was smile and nod. Who knew that I would be starting off my morning like this? Five minutes ago I was pissed off, now I'm getting drinks with a dreamboat who just happens to be my boss. Funny how things change.
