Todoroki looked down at his watch, tapping his foot impatiently on the ground. He had texted his boyfriend a good twenty minutes ago to ask what he was doing. Sadly, he was left on read which, in Todoroki's opinion, was a dick move.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
Todoroki looked up from his watch to his boyfriend. He would have been pissed off if it weren't for what Kaminari was wearing: dark grey skinny jeans, a Pikachu themed crop top, and a beanie( again, Pikachu themed). "What, in God's name, are you wearing?" Todoroki questioned, turning away to hide the obvious blush growing on his cheeks; he thought the outfit was pretty cute if he was being honest. Kaminari pouted and looked down at his outfit, feeling a little self conscious about his choice of clothing. "I could go change," Kaminari said softly, not wanting to look stupid beside his boyfriend. He was able to go back to his room but stopped when he felt a warm sensation wrap around his hand; Todoroki's hand.
"You look, . . cute," Todoroki admitted, a light smile painted across his face, almost covering the fact that he was pretty red. Even after being together for almost two years, they both still got embarrassed saying things like that.
"Th,thanks," Kaminari stuttered, feeling his face start to flush.
"Uh, do you wanna, um, head out now?" The blonde pointed his index finger weakly towards the door, his other hand still holding onto Todoroki's.
Todoroki nodded, his mismatched eyes meeting the blonde's golden ones. The two left the dorm building in an awkward silence, their hands pulling away from one another. Kaminari pulled his hand up to the strap bag he had slug over his left shoulder and held it tight. Truth was, the reason why they never revealed to be soulmates wasn't just because of Bakugou. In fact, Bakugou was the first person to find out; the reason was a lot more complicated.
"So, where are we going?" Kaminari asked his boyfriend, shielding his eyes from the bright rays of the sun. The two were standing at a bus stop a couple blocks away from the school, it wasn't very crowded at that time of the day.
"You'll find out," Todoroki said calmly, not moving his eyes from his phone. Kaminari glanced over at Todoroki with a pout, leaning over slightly to see what his boyfriend was looking at. Todoroki pulled his phone close to his chest, looking down at Kaminari mockingly.
"Patience is a virtue," he said, quoting something Iida had said a couple of days ago.
Kaminari huffed, mumbling, "Patience my arse."
"Oh look, out bus is here," Todoroki said, taking hold of Kaminari'a wrist and pulling him to the bus that had just stopped in front of the stop. As they payed, Kaminari noticed the dirty glances from the bus driver and other passengers. He looked down at their hands holding one another.
"Um, Shouto," Kaminari whispered once they had been seated. He heard his boyfriend hum, knowing that he hadn't noticed the other passengers.
The blonde stayed silent, pulling his hand from the warm comfort of Todoroki's hand.
"Sorry," he breathed out, glancing away from the other male.
Todoroki looked sadly at his soulmate, understanding why he had pulled away.
"It's alright."
He looked at the window, watching Kaminari's reflection; he was shaking. Todoroki desperately watched to calm his boyfriend down, but knew he couldn't. 'I'm sorry,' Todoroki thought, sighing out lightly.
The two got off the bus after a little over half an hour and watched as it drove away. By now, Kaminari had calmed the shaking and his breathing.
"So, where are?" Kaminari asked, turning his head behind the two to face a red brick wall. He gasped out loud. "Oh my god, have you taken me to red brick wall land?!" Kaminari joked, receiving a flick from Todoroki on the forehead.
"Jesus, we aren't there yet," Todoroki said already starting to walk in one direction. Kaminari followed behind a couple of feet. The two walked a little further along the red brick wall, Kaminari saying a few brick puns here and there. 'I'm just glad Denki's fine,' Todoroki told himself, smiling warmly at his boyfriend who was laughing at his own joke. "Just a couple more minutes," Todoroki told Kaminari, causing the blonde to speed walk.
"Then let's hurry up!~" Kaminari giggled, motioning the other male to hurry up. Todoroki rolled his eyes and continued at the pace he was at.
It was another couple minutes or so before the two reached the entrance to a large amusement park. Standing near the side of the entrance were Kaminari's parents.
"Mom? Ma?" Kaminari called out, confused and surprised at the same time. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Did you forget?" Mom asked, taken aback a bit.
"Today is the two year anniversary of you two finding your soulmate as well as us meeting your soulmate, Todoroki." Ma beamed, clasping her hands together.
"Oh," Kaminari mumbled, his mouth turning into an 'o' shape.
"Hey, let's head in," Mom interjected, holding up quick passes. "We want to have as much fun today as possible."
Although most would've probably preferred their moms not coming to their two year anniversary, neither Todoroki nor Kaminari mind. The blonde's moms were pretty laid back unless it came to the booth games whereas Ma got really competitive. To put it simply, it was like a double date.
"You're Ma and I will be heading home," Mom said after a couple hours of playing at booths and going on rides; it was probably late noon, or early evening, judging by the bright orange tint the sky held.
"Really? I could go with you guys if you'd like," Kaminari offered, his brows knitting together in worry.
"Don't worry about us, sweetie," Ma said, lightly kissing Kaminari on the forehead. "You enjoy the rest of the day with Todoroki, alright? We'll see you next weekend."
"Alright, please be safe," Kaminari said, waving goodbye to his mothers. Just as they were about to exit that zone of the park, his Mom called out,
"Be sure to use protection!"
The blonde flushed a bright red while Todoroki seemed unfazed. Although, judging by the red tint of his ears, he was also embarrassed.
"As you already know," Kaminari said, clearing his throat. "They are..." The blonde trailed off, completely at a loss for words.
"They're funny," Todoroki chocked out, reaching his hand out to intertwine their fingers. "I love your moms. They're so open and happy."
"Yeah," Kaminari whispered, staring down at their intertwined hands. All day they had been keeping intimate touches to a minimum. "Listen, Shouto, I'm sorry for wanting to keep us a secret."
"It's fine," Shouto sighed, reaching a hand to Kaminari's cheek. "I get it, you're scared about what everyone'll say. I'm scared too."
"Thank you," Kaminari smiled, his grin widening. "I just,... I don't want anyone to hate you."
"Pffft, the only one who'll hate me for being gay is my dad, and I honestly don't give a rat's arse about what he thinks," Todoroki joked.
"You're right," Kaminari laughed along side his boyfriend. "We should probably make sure we use these tickets to the fullest." The blonde was referring to the quick passes they both had.
"Alright."
The two spend another hour going on rides before heading back to the dorms. They both had a great time, but something Kaminari's Mom said was stuck in their minds.
