Kaminari was tired. For the first time in years, Kaminari felt completely drained - even more so than he'd usually felt after studying.
Not only did he have to apologise to Iida for the other day's misunderstanding, which resulted in him getting a long lecture from Iida and Todoroki, but he also had to deal with the calculating gases from Yaoyorzoru and Midoriya. Adding his usual antics didn't help his case whatsoever.
Kaminari let out a long sigh, falling face first into one of the sofas. He was in the common room, dreading the study lesson Yaoyorzoru and Iida offered to give to him and a few others. He wasn't that bad of a student, was he? Well, considering he'd also failed his first year, he'd say he needed a little guidance; not tutoring every other day by some of the smartest kids in the class.
"That was a long sigh," Jirou commented, looking up from her face with a look of worry and mock.
"Tired."
"Holy shit," Jirou gasped, mock shock in her voice. "The world is ending."
"Shut it." Kaminari hissed, followed by a light groan and a soft apology. "A lot of shit happened today. Not to mention the fact that I have to wait for the next volume of Haikyuu to come out."
"Sounds rough," Jirou commented, ignoring the unusual swear that left the blonde's mouth. He must be really tired. "Why not get some sleep? You're doing fine in class anyways."
"Todo'll probably get annoyed with me if I skip," Kaminari replied, noticing the weird look he got from the other. "What?"
"It's nothing." Jirou quickly turned her gaze back to her phone. "Just wondering: have you found your soulmate?"
"Hmm? Why?" The blonde eyed Jirou curiously while slowly pulling his notebooks out of his bag. Yes, plural notebooks.
"You've been glowing recently."
The flabbergasted stare Kaminari gave Jirou urged her to move on.
"I mean, when people are extremely happy because of their soulmate, they start to glow. It's very faint, but it's there."
"Glowing? What the- how come I can't see people glowing?"
"Only people without soulmates, or who were rejected by their soulmate, can see the glowing." Jirou mumbled, her eyes saddening. There was a silence between the two before Kaminari finally spoke up.
"What happened? To your soulmate, I mean."
"By my tenth birthday, my mark appeared, then immediately dulled." The girl shrugged casually. "I've gotten over it though."
Kaminari frowned before asking, "Can I see your mark?"
"Hmm? What?"
"Your mark. Can I see it?" Kaminari blinked innocently at the other.
"Alright?" Jirou muttered, pulling up her fridge to show a very faint image of a brown and pink heart. You wouldn't notice the mark unless you really tried looking for it, but even then it was hard to see.
"Again, I'm over it, so I don't need your sympathy," Jirou said. "I really don't care."
"That's not what I was thinking," Kaminari said, a mischievous grin plastered across his face. "Imma match you up with someone."
"Pffft, what?!" Jirou snorted, dropping her phone during fits of laughter. "You've got to be joking."
"Nope, hundred percent serious," Kaminari smiled. "Actually now that I think about it, I remember Todo saying something about Yaomomo not having a mark.~"
Jirou flushed sixty shades of pink, stuttering over incoherent syllables.
"Yo, it's a joke, calm down," Kaminari said, although his tone suggesting the exact opposite. "You should tell her."
"Tell her what?" Jirou asked, covering her red face from the outside world with the sleeves. "There's nothing to tell."
"Well, it's obvious that you like her," Kaminari said, casually getting up. "Anyway, I'm gonna get some sleep. I'll study in, like, six hours or something. Bye."
Kaminari walked off, leaving a red faced Jirou alone in the common area.
