Making Friends

"Hey honey are you soon ready?" I knock on Willow's door as we run around getting everything packed up "We're meeting Court and Coco in an hour."

"Yeah!" She opens the door, running out of her room "Do you think we can get coffee? Since Juls had us up all night again?"

"I already told Brad we need to make a stop. There's an awesome place on the way."

We meet Brad and Nolan in the car where they're already fighting over what toys Nolan gets to play with on the way since they'll all drive us absolutely crazy.

"Willz play me?" Nols asks as we get in the car, leaning over his seat to where Willow is sitting with her headphones in. Will takes one out, trying to be nice, and reaches for a toy to help keep him entertained.

Brad and I talk the rest of the way there quietly, not wanting to disrupt the very interesting game of dinosaur vs tiger going on behind us. We're both really hoping everything works out good today so Willow can have fun and make some new friends.

"We there?" Nols eventually starts asking repeatedly when their battle ends in the loss of the tiger somewhere under a seat "Rides?"

"A few more minutes, buddy. We just need to find somewhere to park." Brad looks through the mirror at them "Are you excited Willz? You'll love all the rides."

"Yeah! It's been so long since I've been somewhere like this. I love the parks and the rides and all the food..."

I laugh silently as she rambles on, showing her relation to Brad with every word. That whole family is so much alike it almost scares me sometimes.

We pull into the spot next to Court and I get Nol out before he blows up of the excitement from seeing Coco standing next to the car. He jumps out of my arms, hardly looking at Brad, Will or I as Court and Coco take turns carrying him into the park like the spoiled little brat he is.

"Willow how about you and Coco go find a map or something. Then the two of you can pick out what you want to go on first while we wait here for Lisa and Julian. They'll be here soon."

Brad quickly stops Nolan as he tries to run off behind them, holding him hostage in his tight grip and pointing out some of the kids rides around us.

"Dadda stop! I ride!"

"Hey," I take Nolan from him, whispering in his ear "If I put you down and you listen I'll go on whatever ride you want." He instantly smiles, jumping out of my arms "I good!"

"How'd you do that?" Brad pulls me closer as we all follow the girls to their first choice and Nolan walks quietly beside us holding my hand "He's never this good around people."

"He just really likes his momma."

"She obviously drugged him."

Lisa walks up behind us with Julian, surprising everyone.

"How's the cutest little boy ever doing?" She bends down, picking up Nols "Are we going on rides later?"

"Yeah, and momma! And food."

"Hey Julian," I stop the girls from walking as Julian gets closer "This is our niece Willow."

They don't say much, but Julian walks up with them to help lead the way as the rest of us adults stay behind to give them some space. They eventually start talking to Willow about some of the things we've all done in the past and how she should have lots of fun.

Willow's POV:

"We're taking him over to the kiddie area. Are the three of you okay alone?" Brad walks up to us with Nolan "Just make sure you have your phones on."

"Okay!" I happily walk past them to follow Coco and Julian in line for the same ride we were just on.

"What's it like living with Jen and Brad?" Julian asks, leaning on the railing "I stayed with them before a few times and we always have fun."

"I love their house!" Coco adds, obviously thinking about all the times she's been over "We always end up doing dumb things and staying up all night."

"It's awesome. I love them and their crazy lives. Last night Nolan wouldn't stay in bed and Jen was mad at Brad for not helping so she turned Nols tv shows on and sat him in bed with Brad while she slept in the spare room. I didn't get much sleep but listening to all the random, kid-appropriate fighting was worth it."

We go on the ride for the third time, posing as funny as we can when it takes our pictures, and run off quickly to see the results. Julian can hardly contain himself when he sees the faces Coco and I were making.

"We have to buy those!" He gets out his wallet, stopping Coco and I from spending our money "I'm framing them. They're great."

"No! Those are terrible. We thought it took the picture after that."

"We weren't ready! That's not fair."

"Oh but it's great."

We find a burger place to eat at so we can sit around and talk.

"Have either of you ever thought about acting? Since your parents do?"

"Not really, I just never really thought it would be much fun I guess." Julian steals some of my fries along with Coco's ketchup "I just never liked the idea of the world knowing so much about me."

"Yeah, I've been an extra a few times but I haven't ever wanted to actually be a star. I think you'll be great though since you have Jen and Brad for help."

"I'm just excited to see how it goes after the summer." I look around at everything around me, taking in the fact that I'm finally where I want to be "But I hope I get somewhere. I just don't want to be known for using Jen and Brad. I want to be known for what I'm capable of."

"You will be, honey." Jen sits next to me, wrapping her arm around my neck "You'll be known for all of your incredible talent. I'll be sure of that."

"So how was today?" Brad slides in the seat next to me with everyone else following "Did you have any fun at all?"

"Actually..." Julian gets out the pictures "Lot's of fun."

"They funny!" Nols exclaims, looking at the pictures as he mimics our faces.

"We did that just for you."
