When Ace blinked his eyes open, he was no longer cold. He blinked, moving and shading his eyes with his hand as he sat up. He rubbed at his face. Did I fall asleep? His eyes found that he was outside the amusement park. He rose an eyebrow. He looked around and paused, seeing a pair of legs folded up with a white skirt on. He pushed himself up and saw a girl sleeping beneath the tree. She wore a pink shirt that was ruffled with flowers all over it. Her shoulders were bare, though covered with what looked like the straps of a bag, and her hands were folded up neatly on the top of her skirt as well. He stayed silent as he gazed at her. 

She has a face, he thought. He leaned closer to her. Her hair was a dark brown color, curling down and around her. She was beautiful. His breath caught in his throat. What's a girl like this doing out here? He thought. Ace moved and reached out, going to touch her. All of a sudden her eyes fluttered open. He stiffened and pulled away. They were an icy blue color, and amazing as he gazed into them. They were like the ocean or the sky, completely blue. He swallowed. Wow, he thought. Her eyes suddenly went wide. She leaned away from him. He stood up straight. 

"Ah-sorry, I was just checking to see if you were alright,"he told her. He closed his eyes and grinned, placing his hands on his hips. "That's the knightly thing to do, right?" She stared at him silently, blinking. Mikaela hummed once and pushed herself up, brushing her skirt off. She swallowed. 

"I should be asking that about you,"Mikaela murmured. He opened his eyes as her voice washed over him. It was incredible to hear that. It was almost unbelievable that someone's voice would sound so...warm. Especially when speaking towards him. Mikaela looked at him gently. "I found you passed out in the snow...you could die like that, you know." Ace blinked at her. He lowered his arms as he gazed at her, looking her up and down. She was interesting, this girl. It was obvious that she was an outsider. He smiled. 

"Well, that means you dragged me out here? You must be stronger than I would give you credit for, little lady,"Ace spoke. Mikaela frowned at him. He chuckled. "Now then, what is your name, Outsider?" Outsider...that word again...Mikaela thought. She looked down at the bottle around her neck. I guess I really would be one in this type of world. She looked back up at him. 

"I'm Mikaela Hawthorne,"She told him. He smiled widely. 

"What a nice sounding name. It's nice to meet you, Mikaela,"He told her. He bowed at the waist. "I'm Ace, a knight of Heart Castle. I work under the Queen of Hearts." He stood back up. He gazed at her silently for a moment. "So, you haven't picked a territory to live in yet?" She blinked at him. 

"Well, no actually, all I've met are Boris and Kayleigh...oh, and their son,"Mikaela told him. He hummed in response. She smiled. "I'm not even sure where I am..." She looked and saw the Amusement park still behind them. "Well, I suppose outside of the park..." 

"So you haven't been to see Julius yet? Or the Hatter or the Queen?"He asked. She shook her head. He beamed at her with closed eyes. "Well, why don't I take you then!" Mikaela stiffened. Should I really let him? She thought. She stood perfectly still. If he's around me, and my powers still work, I could hurt him. She opened her mouth and closed it. Maybe it's alright if I just keep silent? "What's the matter?" Mikaela jolted out of her thoughts. She quickly smiled, closing her eyes. 

"Sure, I would love an escort,"She quickly answered. Ace grinned in response. 

"Well, this way then!"

"Wait...that goes back to the park." 

"There's a shortcut-"

"Let's take the long way then? It's cold in there,"Mikaela quickly told him. Ace blinked at her. He thought for a moment and then nodded. She smiled at him in response. He turned and headed down the path, her trailing behind him.
