Ace sighed to himself. He moved, wiping his blade clean. His eyes trailed behind him to the line of clocks scattered about. He looked down at his cloak. Man, I'm just covered in blood. He pulled out his bag for clocks and began piling them inside. I've killed more than normal. He wrinkled his eyebrows. It's just not good enough.

I'm still lacking something...my chest is still cold. He sighed, tying the bag shut. He turned his back on the trail of blood and looked up at the clock tower. Oh well. Julius won't mind this amount, right? Ace ground his teeth.

As they walked through the town, Mikaela's eyes danced around. She had had no clue there was a town close to the mansion at all, it hadn't been drawn on her map. She smiled to herself, knowing no one was looking at her. She followed after Elliot, walking into the shop. He beamed as they stood at the counter.

"Carrot cakeeee!"He exclaimed, pressing his face to the glass case that held all of the baked goods behind it. Mikaela lightly laughed.

"I guess that makes a little sense,"She spoke to herself. Elliot blinked, grinning up at her.

"I love all things carrot flavored and anything with the word carrot in it. Just not actual carrots,"Elliot told her. Mikaela hummed at him. He lifted up and ordered himself some. "What do you want?" Mikaela peered through the glass. Her eyes slid over them until she found a cheesecake. She pointed at it. Elliot rose an eyebrow. "You like cheesecake?" Mikaela nodded at him. He ordered that too, paying for it. They took their slices and sat down at a table, both eying their sweets in front of them with joy. Elliot took a bite and made a noise of happiness at it.

"You really like that, huh?"Mikaela asked. Elliot grinned, nodding at her. She smiled, eating her own cake. She sighed, keeping silent. He watched her quietly, noting that her sad behavior had seemed to fade slightly. He rested his hand on his cheek. Mikaela noticed his staring and rose an eyebrow. He jolted.

"I wasn't staring!"Elliot quickly told her. Mikaela gazed at him.

"Well, since I hadn't accused you of doing so yet, and you just defended yourself, it seems to me that you have a guilty conscience,"Mikaela teased. Elliot stiffened, his face turning red. Her eyes glanced up, seeing his ears twitch. She hummed at him. He glanced at her.

"What?"he asked her.

"Can...I touch your ears?"Mikaela asked. Elliot blinked at her. She shrugged. "I'm just curious, is all. I've never seen....well in my world, humans don't have animal ears." He hummed.

"Right, Alice said the same thing." Mikaela stiffened. Alice again...Mikaela thought. She smiled bitterly. Elliot frowned. What's that look for? He wondered.

"Well can I?" Elliot quickly  nodded and lowered his head.

"Just...don't pull them please,"Elliot spoke. Mikaela reached out touching one of them. Her eyes went wide. She rubbed up and down his ear. He stiffened. She's not pulling on them...it's different than with Alice. Alice yanked and hurt me, but Mikaela is kind of...making it feel good. Mikaela noticed his cheeks turning redder and pulled away. Why is he blushing? She wondered. She frowned. Her mind trailed to Ace. I think he only ever blushed around me once... She quickly shook her head.

"Cool,"Mikaela commented. She finished her cheesecake and rose up. "Can we look around some? I've never been here before." She let out a small pained laugh. "Whenever I was with Ace, we only ever spent our time lost. It was lame." Elliot nodded at her. He stood up after finishing his cake and they left the shop, walking around the town. Mikaela frowned to herself. That was a lie...you enjoyed being lost with Ace, she thought. She closed her eyes. After a moment, she bumped into something. She quickly jerked back and opened her eyes. She blinked. Elliot was holding a stuffed animal in front of her. "Wh-" Elliot grinned, pulling it away.
