Ace gazed at her in shock. She swallowed, looking up at him. He didn't know what to say. Mikaela looked down. 

"Please say something..."

"A girl like you..."Ace murmured. She looked up at him. Her eyes searched his face. He looked...almost disgusted. "A girl like you has killed someone?" Mikaela felt her heart drop. There goes my chances at fixing things with him... she swallowed. 

"Yes." 

"You're lying,"Ace accused. Mikaela's eyes went wide. She looked up at him. He shook his head at her in disbelief. He reached out, grabbing her wrist. "There's no way someone like you could ever kill someone. You're lying to me. You want to hurt me more, is that it? You turn me down and then start running around with that damned rabbit, and then I find out you've lied about your powers...and now this?"

"What? No, no, I would never want to hurt you!"Mikaela exclaimed. He pulled her, throwing her against a tree. Her stuffed fox flew from her grasp, landing on the ground.  

THUNK. 

She fell to the ground, her head throbbing from bouncing off the tree. She pushed herself up a little blinking the spots that had appeared in her vision away. 

"It's unthinkable...I really can't believe that you would actually think I'd believe something so stupid,"He laughed. He walked towards her. She looked up at him slowly, feeling her vision waever. He moved, grabbing and picking her up by the throat. He pushed her against the tree, holding her there. "I knew I really should've just killed you." 

"Ace...please..."Mikaela breathed at him. He squeezed. Her eyes went wide. His eyes searched hers. "Let me...expl..ain..." She grabbed his hand. 

"You didn't even tell me about your power, why should I listen to more lies from you?"Ace laughed. His smile went dark. Mikaela felt tears squeeze out of her eyes. She sighed. I'll let him kill me. I wouldn't mind...maybe it's Karma finally catching up with me. I killed Anthony...now it's only fair, right? She thought. A flash image of his face passed in her mind. She dropped her hand from his and stayed still. "Playing dead?" Mikaela didn't move. He frowned, his grip loosening up. Her eyes opened slightly. 

"Kill me if you want...if it'll...bring you comfort." Ace's eyes went wide. 

If it'll bring me comfort? He thought. He imagined her dead and felt something in his chest ache. He quickly dropped her in shock. She fell to the ground, touching her throat and coughing. She blinked up at him in surprise. 

"Why did you stop?"She breathed at him. Ace stepped away from her. He looked down at his hand. I almost took her away from myself. His chest ached again. He frowned, looking at her again. Her skin was red in the shape of fingers, though it barely showed. She'll bruise. He stayed silent, not sure what to do. "Ace..."

"Just shut up,"Ace hissed at her, raising his hand in frustration. Mikaela cowered away from him, her eyes squeezing shut. He frowned. I would never hit her...why is she...did I finally scare her off? "Mikaela..." She quickly opened her eyes, surprised at herself.

"Sorry...I know you wouldn't hit me,"Mikaela murmured. She stood up. She swallowed and looked down at the ground. She grabbed her arm standing and quivering slightly. "I'll...go back to the mansion. I'm sorry Ace. I'm sorry." Ace reached out for her. She turned and ran from him. His eyes widened as he saw tears flying off her face as she ran away from him down the path.

Mikaela ran past the twins and into the gate, not speaking to them. As she ran towards the mansion, she collided with someone. She quickly pushed herself up, surprised to see Elliot under her. He blinked up at her, sitting up as she pulled away from him.
