"Heyy" Josie was sitting on the edge of her bed trying not to look more nervous than she was. "Hope you found the way okay."
Penelope laughed. "Like I would forget the way to your room." She said as she closed the door. "What's with your hands?" Penelope asked as she noticed Josie moving them franticly. Josie not knowing what to do with them had been moving her hands from her head to her hips and back. She wanted to seem cool and relaxed but it came of more as stressed and scared. "I'm sorry, I'm stupid." Josie said, now trying to hide herself behind her hands. "No you're not! You are cute, when you nervous." Penelope said winking at Josie.
"So what are we doing?" Penelope asked. "Oh well I thought we could watch a movie..." Josie said. "Boooooring." Penelope said "What do you propose then?" Josie asked a bit irritated. "How about we just stop talking and start fucking, I know your into me." Josie's hart stopped. "What? No, no I don't, I mean, no I'm not." she stuttered. "I'm kidding." Penelope sat down next to Josie. "Light up a little Saltzman, a movie sounds fun. Netflix I presume?"
"Yeah" Josie sighed looking noticeably relieved but also a tiny bit disappointed. Josie got up to get her Laptop. She went to her desk and pulled out a silver Apple MacBook with perfectly, aesthetically arranged stickers on it. "See, that is how I imagined your room Josie, not with all the posters of very overrated and outdated male celebrities. I mean it's like Johnny Depp is looking right into my soul." Penelope said pointing at the poster that was taped to the ceiling. "I know right." Josie said.
"I mean, I have nothing against Johnny Depp but why the hell does it have to be a poster of him in Dark Shadows? Like how do you sleep at night with him watching you?" Penelope chuckled. "You don't even know, I have asked Lizzie to take it down multiple times but she doesn't want to, it's one of her favourite movies."
"Well..." Penelope stood up and climbed on top of Josie's bed. " Lizzie's not here right now and I don't want to look at pale and creepy Johnny Depp all night!" She ripped the poster of the wall. Surprisingly without breaking it. "We can hang it back up later." Penelope argued. "My hero." Josie said while clapping. "You have rescued me from that awful poster."
Penelope sat back down on the bed. The girls both looked at each other and the stared laughing simultaneously.
"So, what are we watching?" Penelope asked after the girls had calmed down and had made themselves comfortable on the bed. "You can pick." Josie said. "But I want to know what you like, this is your computer, your room, your night." Penelope said in a very calm voice.
"Oh." Josie said surprised. "What?" Penelope asked. "Nothing." Josie quickly replied. "What? You sounded surprised." Penelope asked.
"This is going to sound so stupid and pathetic but Lizzie usually picks the movie. It's just been a while since someone cared about what I want." Josie stated, trying to hold back a tear. Penelope was staring Josie down, listening to every word she said very carefully and calmly. Josie who noticed how much she had opened up again tried to cover it up by saying: "Well cared about my movie choices. Then she awkwardly laughed, trying to lighten the mood.
"I care about you" Penelope said softly smiling at Josie. She was looking right at Josie who was looking down at her keyboard trying to not look to vulnerable. "Hey I care." Penelope said a bit louder trying to get Josie's attention. Because Josie was still not looking at her, she put her hand on Josie's face redirecting it towards her own.
"I care." Penelope said again, now looking right into Josie's eyes
The room was in complete quite you could of heard a pin drop.
Penelope started to lean forward slowly giving Josie enough time to back away if she wanted. She didn't stop until her lips touched Josie's. Not wanting to pressure her though, Penelope paused after that first kiss, but Josie kissed her right back. She didn't have to wait long at all. After that kiss Josie pulled away though.
"Why, why me, I don't understand you could have anyone. Why me, why?" Josie asked.
Penelope chuckled. "Why?" She paused slightly. "Why not?"
"Josie." Penelope said very quietly.
"Yeah." Josie answered equally as quite.
"Do you want to go on a date with me? Like a real one"
"Definitely" Josie said. As they were about to go in for another kiss Lizzie came barging in, screaming at the top of her lungs for Josie before seeing Penelope and Josie on the bed.
