Why? Why not?

Chapter 4

After Lizzie had walked in on Josie and Penelope the room went silent for a while. The girls just looked at each other not knowing what to say. It was clear that Josie was waiting for Lizzie to say something and Lizzie was waiting for Josie to speak up. And Penelope, well she kinda just wanted to see how this would play out, but after a very long minute of silence it got to weird even for her, she was the first one to speak up. "So you two seem like you need to chat so I'm gonna leave." 

She stood up from the bed put her shoes on and walked past Lizzie towards the door. But before she oped it she turned slightly and said  "I'll text you Josie" then proceeded to flirtatiously wink at Josie. 

"So how was your date?" Josie asked Lizzie awkwardly smiling at her trying to not draw that much attention to the fact that Lizzie had just walked in on her making out with someone. "It was fine but compared to yours it was nothing apparently. So you and Dark Park? How long has that been going on?" Lizzie said sounding really nosey. 

"Dark Park?" Josie asked? 

"Yeah it's a one of her many nicknames, have you never heard it before?" Lizzie asked in disbelieve. Josie shook her head. 

"That's not important since when have you two been a thing" Lizzie asked again.

"We are not a thing, we just started talking." Josie said trying to brush Lizzie off. But Lizzie was not about to cave in so easily. "Just talking? You've got to be kidding me Josie, I just saw you guys talking with each others tongues in each others mouths." Lizzie said while raising her voice to make a point.

"Okay fine but it was the first time and we were just going to watch a movie." Josie said.

"Just a movie, if I had not come in you would have slept with her for sure." Lizzie said laughing. "I mean I get it, she pretty but she also has a big reputation, so just be careful, try not to fall for her immediately."

"I'm not going to but for the record, she doesn't seem like the infamous Penelope Park when I'm with her." Josie said. As she said that, in that moment, thinking about Penelope her face lit up.

"Oh boy her we go again." Lizzie said taking of her heels.

"What do you mean here we go again, this is not a here we go again moment." Josie said shaking her head.

"Yes it is." Lizzie said whilst smiling

"No it is not." Josie said as she stood up and walked towards Lizzie

"Josie I'm your twin, I've been with you since day one and I know when your crushing, and you crushing hard on Penelope Park." Lizzie said. The she turned around, "Can you help me unzip this dress really quick."

"I am crushing aren't I?" Josie said. Mostly to herself but nonetheless out loud.

"Yes! know help me unzip."

The next morning 

Josie was sitting alone at breakfast reading a romance novel she had borrowed from the library.

"Hey is this seat taken?" 

Josie looked up just to see Penelope looking down at her. "No not at all." Josie said as she moved her books to make space for Penelope. Penelope sat down the book that Josie was reading caught her eye. "Ah romance, are you one of those hopeless romantics?" Penelope asked.

"You could say that." Josie answered.

"I'm more into fantasy myself, I like seeing the different ways the supernatural is portrayed in books and movies." Penelope said

"Really? There is so much supernatural stuff going on around me all the time I could not go and read about it some more." 

"That's fair." Penelope laughed.

Then Penelope started to looked around. "Where's your other half, she always manages to pop up when you least expect it."

"Oh she has class right now." Josie said.

"Good cause I was hoping to talk to you alone. We never got to finish that movie. Or start it for that matter and that's such a shame. So how about we finish it now?" Penelope put her hand on Josie's thigh. Nobody saw, as Josie's legs where underneath the table.

"Now?" Josie's heart started to race, feeling Penelope's hand slowly move up and down her thigh. "I don't think that's such a good idea." she said trying no to show how nervous and turned on she was at the same time. "I mean there are so many People around."

Penelope started  laughing. "Not here of course."

Josie blushed with embarrassment. "We can't we shouldn't. Also we can't go back to my room Lizzie could walk in on us at any minute cause you know, sometimes she skips classes. And my dad could walk in because he has the key to our room  and then he would kick you out and...

"Okay Saltzman, how bout you stop talking up and follow me." Penelope picked up Josie's books, got up and proceeded to walk away. Josie waited a second but then she followed Penelope like a puppy.

"Oh and don't worry about your Dad he hasn't kicked me out for anything I've done so far and trust me I've done much worse than you!" Penelope smiled.

"Oh." Josie said flustered. "So may I ask where we are going?" she asked after processing the information she had just been given. 

"To my room of course." Penelope said with a big kind of cocky smile on her face.
