Penelope was quite nervous. Even though she would never let anyone see, she loved Josie and seeing as two of the people Josie was closest to didn't really like her the idea of this dinner made her extremely nervous. Penelope had just finished doing her makeup when Josie walked into the room.

"Heyyy. Are you ready yet-"

Josie stopped mid-sentence, for a second she was just staring at Penelope.

"Wow you look beautiful"

"Thank you, so do you, Jojo."

For a moment they just stood there admiring each other, then Josie grabbed Penelope and gave her a kiss, a long, tender and loving kiss as if she was trying to say; "No matter what happens tonight you will still be my girl.

"Oh wow look at the time, we have to go, were meeting my family at the restaurant, can't be late," Josie said

"We won't be."

At the restaurant, Lizzie and Alaric were already waiting.

"Oh my god sorry are we late?" Josie asked with fear in her heart.

"No it's fine Caroline isn't here yet either," Alaric said.

Josie exhaled in relief. Alaric then went inside to check on their reservation leaving Lizzie, Josie, and Penelope to their lonesome. Josie was one Penelopes arm awkward smiling, trying to make conversation while Lizzie and Penelope were more focused on staring each other down.

"Penelope" Lizzie finally said in a cold voice as she looked Penelope up and down.

"Lizzie," Penelope said with an equally cold tone and a fake smile.

"So nice of you to join us instead of just blowing us off, I heard from some of your exes that's the only thing your actually good at," Lizzie said

"Lizzie," Josie said trying to silence her sister.

"Now that's not a very nice thing to say Elisabeth" they heard a voice from the distant saying.

"Mom." both if the twins said in unison.

The twins ran and hugged their mother. Bombarding her with a tone of questions.

"I'm happy to see you girls as well but we can answer all the questions at dinner, let us go inside. Oh let's not forget I'm also here to meet Josie's girlfriend."

Caroline turned towards Penelope with a huge smile on her face.

"Hello you must be Penelope, my daughter has told me much about you, just between you and me I think she's a little obsessed." She said to Penelope letting out a friendly laugh.

"Mom" Josie let out an embarrassed cry, while Lizzie rolled her eyes.

Penelope laughed and said; "That's me, I've heard quite a bit about you as well."

'Can we go inside, I'me sure Dad's already waiting." Lizzie said impatiently.

They went inside where Alaric was indeed waiting at their table. They sat down and ordered food. Josie asked about Caroline and her work in Europe. Lizzie talked about her boy troubles and Alaric about how hard it was running the school. Penelope quietly kept to herself barely talking through the evening, answering the occasional question from Alaric and Caroline about her and Josie's relationship and clapping back at the occasional snarky remark from Lizzie. Although she was awfully quiet the whole night she had a small smile on her face throughout the entire night.

During the night there was a live band playing on the little stage at the back of the restaurant. After dessert, everybody was conversing the bad started to make their exit and a new band started to unpack their instruments on stage. Caroline noticed.

"Oh no the band is leaving, their Music was so good," she said.

"It's about to get a whole lot better," Penelope said. This was the first time she had spoken without being asked to do so the whole night. She turned to Josie, "I know you've been wanting to show you, mom, the songs you wrote. Now is your chance, I booked you a ten-minute set." Penelope said with a soft voice.

"How did you... I mean I only told you about this yesterday?" Josie said very confusedly and a bit flustered.

"I have my ways." Penelope smiled. "Come on, the band knows the music all you have to do is sing, you got this Jojo, blow them all away.

She stood up and held out her hand. Josie took it and Penelope led her to the stage, then made her way back to the table. Josie looked at the band. They were students, Penelope's friend's fellow witches. So that's how they learned her songs so fast. She looked out at the crowd the people sitting at their tables looking at her. She was scared but then she saw Penelope and the look on her face, the looked so happy and proud. Josie took a deep breath the gave the band the ok. She sang her songs looking a Penelope and Penelope only through the whole set, Penelope staring right back at her not taking her eyes off her throughout the whole set.

After she was done the whole restaurant applauded it was quite a bit louder than the applause previous band had gotten. The loudest table was the one with her family. Josie returned to them and was showered with praise. After paying they exited the restaurant. Josie was hanging on Penelope's arm.

"Thank you for tonight you were perfect," she exclaimed

"What? Are you saying I'm not always perfect," Penelope laughed.

"Of course you are," Josie said after bestowing a kiss on her girl.

"Damn I forgot something inside you can go on without me," Penelope said

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah go home and have a nice night with your family. I'll text you later." Penelope said.

"Okay, I will love ya baby" Josie kissed Penelope and went off.

Penelope didn't go back inside though. She walked around the little town of Mystic Falls. She sat down on a bench in the Park near the restaurant.

"Lying to my daughter, " Caroline said.

"Oh, I didn't mean to- sorry.  Penelope said.

"No. no, it's okay I just wanted to say that tonight was nice, and thank you for what you did for Josie. Booking her a set, I know she would have never done that on her own, she normally...

"Just say's in Lizzie's shadow." Penelope interrupted. "Oh sorry I didn't mean it like that" Penelope exclaimed after realizing that she said that out loud.

"That's not how I would have said it but pretty much." You see her even in Lizzie's shadow, not many people do and I wanted to say thank you."

Penelope smiled.

"Also you are quite different from what I had imagined." Lizzie has also told me a lot about you, less positive things. I had pictured something different."

"I guess Lizzie doesn't know me as well as she thinks," Penelope said as the smile on her face slowly disappeared.

"Well anyways I should get back to my family. thank you again have a nice night." Caroline said.

Penelope, now alone looked up at the stars.

"What a beautiful happy family I wish it could last." she mouthed under er breath while a tear streamed down her face.

So after 1x14  I kinda had a posie breakdown and wanted nothing to do with Legacies and posie anymore so I stopped writing. Then I kinda forgot I had this story going, but I recently got back into posie and remembered this account exists. So I figured I'd write one more chapter and then be done with their story. Sorry if you cared about this fic and then it just stopped.

This is the end of my posie journey for now I guess. Goodbye. It was fun while it lasted.
